Name: Helen Alexander Age: 14 Gender: Female Occupation: Eva Unit 04 Appearance:

Personality: Helen is a girl who outwardly seems calm and relaxed...yet usually positive even in a pinch, a not entirely crazy thing considering the situation and her status as the pilot of an Evagelion Unit. As a pilot she is a hard worker who puts her all into what she does, the same for those matters she takes most seriously, though she does have her hedonistic aspects and occasional laziness. Whether it be enjoying a hot bath for a little longer than normal, indulging in a small pack of sweet chocolates she bought from a store, getting and wearing a new comfortable piece of clothing, or even reclining back and doing nothing in the comfort of her room with the satisfaction of not having to do something, she does enjoy a bit of "pleasurable" things now and then that for her are relaxing. Despite this dichotomy, she can also generally be a regular teenager like anyone else in her generation for the most part. While not afraid to talk to people, even get to know them and such over time, those who really get on her bad side tend to stay on her bad side unless they prove themselves otherwise in her eyes. She also carries a gold-colored coin that is put onto a black leather necklace cord worn around her neck. When stressed or anxious to enough of a degree, she fiddles with this coin to keep herself calm, and this actually works for her. Yet the loss of this coin causes her to panic or otherwise get angry depending on the occasion. This minor quirk of hers aside, among The Children she is perhaps amongst the most "normal" and functional among them, which seem in part odd when one considers her excitement to get into pilot's seat of her Eva Unit. History: Her family (prior to her birth) migrated along with many others who survived the flooding of 55% of the Southeast United States in the wake of the Second Impact, moving to Nevada in a community that still held that "southern culture" and was a good resemblance to the former Southeast. Her father, in particular, is a scientist who worked closely with Nerv after being hired by the organization, this being possibly the main reason her parents moved to the Nevada area very close to the NERV base. Still, the better money her father made contributed to providing the family with a relatively good, middle-class life even in what the world was now. Albeit, her father would be often gone from home when she was very young and come home weary after work. In particular as a child she became close to her mother, who was a former history major and collected old coins. And the two bonded over this, collecting coins and such. Her mother even gave her a special coin, put onto a necklace, that was a replica of an actual old coin and made to last. Though the stress of seeing her father as he was eventually spurred her mother to tell her a piece of advice she has taken to heart since: "Life is too short to be sad. So be happy, enjoy what life has to offer, and always work hard at the important things in life!" Such advice was what helped her bring herself up in regards to her morale and spirits, and led directly to her current state of mind most directly. Eventually, her father was able to come home more, but he would often talk to her mother alone for a bit before the two would come out. This went on for several more years, even as her parents seemed to try to give her a good life. And then....that day came. One day, her mother left the house, telling her "i want you to know that i will always, always love you, and i hope you never give up on life". It was a sobering message delivered in a manner as if...her mother would never return. Like it was a last goodbye of some sort. And so it would be. Later that day her father came home from work....alone, telling her that her mother was...gone. Dead. He said that she had done something brave, so that someone else would not have to do it. And that she had done something to try to help save people, a thing that her mother had always been adamant about in general. Not understanding what that situation was, she did become sad and down, as of course she had just lost her beloved mother. Yet over time eventually she picked back up for the most part, though gained the odd habit of fiddling with that coin necklace of hers, and never seemed to let that go. For what reason, her father could only guess, and eventually she was taken in by Nerve to become a pilot. She never knew the reason she was chosen for training and being the pilot of EVA Unit 04, but at the same time the EVA Unit felt....familiar to her. Thus a new pilot was born.
