Dean Booker
I know how to do it now yay [@LetMeDoStuff][s]yeet, I forgot about this imma just, yaknow, write something...[/s] Dean was afraid, he hadn't expected the navy to leave them behind, it hadn't gone down well with the others either. Dean had almost exhausted his supply of bandages and splints, the biofoam had run out long before that, there were still some marines wounded with only light cuts and burns. Not only were there dead marines but dead covenant as well, from Grunts to Elites, there were dead everywhere, sometimes it couldn't determined which was which. the ground had been hammered down by explosives and boots, coupled with blood, and other excrements, every step had a disgusting squelch. Multiple callings had been made by other squads and fire teams, the only problem was that sierra squad, or team, could not answer, the radio had been shot and long range contact was limited to one way. One marine had enough and kicked the radio before finally hearing the calling of an ODST squad suggesting all units to move to outpost sierra, corporal Zhou Xi chuckled, he was in command now. "Get up, men, we need to get to the others, Doc, how many can walk?" He asked, the men were anxious to get out of the combat zone, who knows when the next covenant dropship comes to finish them off. "We have three that can walk from squad alpha, one from bravo, one from delta needs a stretcher and two from echo who will need aid walking. The one from delta needs to get to shelter fast or she's gonna die.", Dean was particularly blunt with his reply though no one seemed to get ticked off. "Great, we'll move now, gather up men, I want two on the stretchers who aren't moving and the navigator up front with me, Dean you stay with the wounded at the back, we don't want any more dying on us." The marines had walked for some time, a few stops were needed for the wounded and no where they were running out of water, on the better side of things outpost sierra was within walking distance, you could almost see the structure, that or the men were hallucinating, either way the navigator was sure they were near, all spirits were high until they heard more gunshots, only these gunshots sounded different. "GET DOWN!" The corporal called, and the twelve dropped, blue plasma shot over their heads, quite obviously from covenant forces. Another blue missile flew over head, but this was not the ordinary plasma shot from covenant weaponry, it stuck to the pack of the engineer Antonio Ciro, exploding and killing two others, Dean looked towards the origin of fire and saw only three beings, one Elite and two Jackals stood, weapons drawn, Dean fired a few rounds towards the elite, hitting it in the unprotected arm, the energy shield sheild was down. The private, Mckenzie, took I think upon himself to throw a grenade towards the trio, ultimately killing the two Jackals, the Elite, however, still stood. It's arm had been blown off, it made a shrieking noise then proceeded to charge at the private, plasma sword drawn, all marines who could fire fired, it took every hit before finally digging its plasma sword into the privates chest, finally, it fell to the ground, bullet holes gaping anywhere armour wasn't, Dean, in a fit of rage, fixed his rifle into full auto and began shooting the alien. "Doc! Doc!", Eechiro tried calming him, for now it worked. "What! We're all gonna die, we can't fucking survive alone on this planet." "That's right, we can't...", they all fell silent, then, the young private Gale spoke up. "We won't die, there're Spartans, remember, Spartans are here with us, we can win back this planet with them on our side!", a bit of hope entered the soldiers minds, putting light in their eyes, but, they all knew that encountering even one spartan on this whole planet would be near impossible. The eight left, outpost sierra was closer than expected, a safe zone where they could resupply and treat their wounded, they entered without checking for hostiles, luckily there were none but there was still the whole planet of Oman...
