Jean is studying at the library of Columbia University in NYC when the Earth shakes. Instead of an earthquake alert, her phone gets a shelter in place alert--due to metahuman activity. A system put in place after the Avengers defended NYC from alien invasion. Immediately after Jean is contacted by her CIA handler: Sharon Carter, the same handler for all the X-Men. Sharon explains briefly that Luke Cage, Danny Rand, and Jessica Jones are fighting with what Xavier believes are three actual birth-mutants, not meta humans given powers via experimentation, or some mystic source. 

Jean spends the post going the opposite way of everyone else: instead of running away from the quaking and the chaos, Jean goes TOWARDS it, until finally she's face to face with the three Defenders and three mutants fighting in a Rand Biotech building: Arclight, Frenzy, and Gambit. Jean quickly helps Rand, and he explains to her that the mutants have stolen something from the lab. Once Arclight realizes Jean's using her telekinetic power to keep her from slapping her hands together to cause another quake, Arclight announces that "she's here"--the three mutants were waiting for Jean. 

Using some device, some psychic bomb, to neutralize Jean the three mutants use the attack as a diversion from which to escape. When she wakes up, Jean has a headache, but is otherwise okay, surrounded by the three Defenders. Before they can ask Jean all their questions, Sharon Carter calls. Jean is wheels up in two hours, and that can only mean one thing: Sharon Carter and Charles Xavier are getting the band back together. [/hider]
