The excitement, the wonder, the passion, the confusion and then the pain, the horror, the wondering why. But she was not reacting to it, barely acknowledging it. She didn't want to acknowledge it. She didn't want to admit to herself that she had already hurt Kosara in a way. So she denied herself to think about that and concentrated on the fact that they needed to talk. Aaliyah nodded at the woman. "We should do that." She felt like she could use something to drink. Just to hold onto a mug and have something to stare at while her thoughts whirled around in her mind like loose paper in a hurricane. She let Kosara pick up her camping stuff that she had ignored ever since laying eyes on the strange woman in the tree. She let her lead the way. And Aaliyah was aware of the danger that this woman could be. But she didn't care. And somehow that concerned her, but once again, she didn't care much. The woman wished she had a way to communicate with her mother or her father. They would know what this connection might be. They would have an idea about what Liyah should do, what she should be considering while talking to this stranger and being in her company. But it's been a long time since the queen had talked to her parents and had been able to rely on their advice. It's been a long time since she had felt someone's Eredh near hers, except for some wild animals she had met over the decades, but that wasn't even remotely close. She knew that the Eredh she felt radiating from Kosara's presence was different and that alone should have been warning enough to not go somewhere with her, to not stay in her company alone and unsafe. But she couldn't help it. She was weak. She had a deep need to feel someone be around her that felt familiar in a way, that felt like home somehow. And while Kosara's Eredh did feel like... like a language spoken with an accent... it was still her language, it was still her words and she could still understand it. It was still a reminder of home. The closest the would ever get to being home. Ever again. Sadness wrapped around her hearth at the thought of her planet burning down. Shame sneaked into her chest as she remembered how she had let her people down, let them die and lead the rest of them into their infinite prison to be slaughtered one by one slowly by humankind. Anger got added to it as she remembered that it was the Great Evil that had put the decision onto her - and when she had chosen from the options he gave her, he had made her regret... just like he had promised he would. And this wasn't one of those stupid movies that humankind produced for fun. The hero wasn't gonna be back and stronger and defeat the evil and safe the people. The hero ran away, hid and failed. The hero wasn't a hero, but just a little broken girl. Her eyes wandered to Kosara. She didn't know how long she had been silent for, wrapped up in her own thoughts. "Who are you?", Aaliyah asked before she could stop herself. She didn't regret the question, she wanted to know. But she also was aware of the fact that on earth people had the tendency to throw questions back at the person who asked. It was a strange thing that Aaliyah hadn't understood at first. Why would you repeat someone's questions? What a dull conversation that must be. And what a strange experience it was to learn when to throw them back at one and when not to... that took her some while to learn and it was not amusing at times to see the reactions when she had done it wrong. They judge so quickly, they judge before you walk into a room, they judge before you even get the chance to say our first word. Humans with their small, short lives, they love to whine, to judge, to be bigger and better and stronger than the next person. After all these years, Aaliyah still didn't understand that part of humanity. She still didn't understand what that was all about. And politics... she still didn't understand how politics worked. Her eyes lied on the woman and a small smile played on her lips. She didn't intent to smile, but something about that pure beauty of the woman and her stunning aura made Aaliyah smile. It felt as if making that woman happy, making her smile, was the most important thing. And she didn't understand why. So many things that she didn't understand on this planet. It was frustrating.
