Type of Weapon: Cavalry Lance and semi-automatic Sniper Rifle. Appearance: The Heavy Stinger is a cartoonishly large cavalry lance, ten feet long with a six foot tip, flared out towards the grip. An internal barrel ends roughly one-inch off-center at the top, flush with the surface of the lance and leaving a deep slit in the side of the weapon. Just behind the flared out end of the blade sits a cylindrical magazine, neatly wrapped around the lance grip. The magazine is nine inches long and roughly eight inches in outer diameter, and is attached by sliding it along the length of the grip and slotting it into a short magazine well. A flip-out handle on the magazine moves in a spiral slot while loading rounds. In the four foot long grip is an angled trigger and in a rail above the magazine is a 4-20x digital night scope. The rear end of the grip is comfortably padded and shaped to fit under one's arm, weighted to balance it against the blade, and equipped with a hinge and latch that permits one to flip it down and use it as a buttstock. Near the very end of the end of the lance are three slits in a triangular formation, with one at the bottom. A single eight inch long, double-edged blade swings outwards from each slit to 30 degrees from the lance shaft, all powered by a single dust-based combustion piston inside of the lance. A spring loaded priming handle attached to a cable is accessible at the grip, which pulls the three blades and piston back into position. The weapon is painted with black and yellow rings around the tip, with the internal blades painted red, and the inside of the barrel and remainder of the weapon left unpainted. Functionality and Usage: Combine with a motorcycle for maximum melee fun! Though the weapon is also capable of being used as a normal polearm due to the extreme length of the grip, it is unwieldy and absurdly heavy, weighing in at a solid forty pounds. Unless you're some sort of superhuman, you're not going to be as fast with the Heavy Stinger as you would be with something more reasonable. Typical usage involves putting it through something at high velocity. If that doesn't kill it, the secondary trigger at the rear of the grip is pressed, forcing the three blades outwards for extra internal damage and even more fun on their way out. The round fired is a custom tooled HEIAP cartridge with a 7.62x122 round and a seven inch bottlenecked casing with a base diameter of 22mm. It's effectively a tiny javelin being propelled by a heap of powder more suitable for a hand grenade than a rifle round, and casings are rendered unusable after firing once due to the high pressure. Without being cleaned and maintained each time the Heavy Stinger is taken out for usage, the harsh shock of firing a round may unexpectedly trigger the explosive piston and extend the tip's blades. Recoil is manageable due to the weapon's immense size, but may be used to retrieve the weapon after embedding it in a target. The spiral magazine holds roughly thirty rounds in total, but is difficult to swap out. This is a dedicated Grimm slayer. Use backup pistol or knife when dealing with close-in human fighters.
