Drake Marble:

Basic Traits
Quote: “I swear to god that was entirely on accident… But it was friggin’ cool.” Height: 5”6’ Age: 19 Appearance: Drake is a figure who tends to stick out, despite really not looking like much of a threat. He’s certainly on the shorter side, and no one can actually deny that, and his frame definitely shows that he could afford to eat some more and gain a few pounds. One couldn’t really describe him as sickly, or frail, instead they would probably claim that he could use much more exercise than he usually gets. Most simply do not look passed this fact from afar however when you look a little bit closer it becomes incredibly clear that there is something far more unique about him than he first appears. The most obvious feature is his hair, which tends to sit somewhat messily and untamed upon his head. It’s wavy threads fall down upon his forehead and behind his back in a particularly chaotic manner that only brings further attention to the fact that his hair seems almost metallic in nature. When the light hits it, the usually gray strands seem to shine like well polished silver which causes him to be particularly eye catching if he has not stuffed the bright colored mane of fur underneath a simple hood as he usually does. His eyebrows follow this trend and maintain the same silvery hue, which matches his light gray eyes. This in itself could be enough to cause some to become somewhat uncomfortable with his presence, however when matched with his incredibly pale skin-tone it all adds together to make the boy almost seem as if he’s some type of ghost rather than a simple boy. In spite of all this working together to make it seem like Drake is a particularly mysterious character however, the boy seems to carry around him a confident and care-free persona that oftentimes throws people off guard. Ethnicity: Caucasian
Background
History: Drake comes from a particularly well-off and middle class family within America. He was raised there as a normal child, with a family he loved and friends that he cared for. Truthfully he was nothing special and even when the Rifts first opened, he was too young to understand what was truly going on at the time. Rift History: Drake's story is truthfully one of simply being in the wrong place, at the wrong time. His parents worked as Global Habitation workers, which meant that they often took long and far off trips around the world. When the first Rift opened, Drake and his family were planning to take a trip to see exactly what it was they did, and to show Drake what his parents did for a living. The boy was absolutely ecstatic at the time, and took great joy in being able to see the world beyond America. The very moment they arrived at their destination, the Brazilian Rift opened. In fact their plane was making a descent directly across it’s path when it opened, enveloping the plane and nearly causing a full on collision with the ground before it was able to make a course correct and land. It had amazed Drake, and truly fascinated him, however he wouldn’t realize until later that this crack in the sky would take away the life he loved so much. War History: Drake never participated in the war… After all, he was only 11 when it first started. In truth he doesn’t remember a lot from this time, and for very good reason. When those from the Brazilian Rift began to gain their powers, Drake was terrified. His parents started acting irrationally, violent even at times. One day his father snapped and turned into a monster, a twisted creature with fangs and claws, one that forced Drake to run for his life while the father he loved so much tried to murder him. He never remembered exactly what happened that day, only that when he next opened his eyes he was within a hospital while being monitored by heavily armed guards. From that moment on he was treated as a test subject, and an experiment. The Order soon learned that Drake was sort of a Titan, but due to his much younger age he seemed to not carry all the power or strength the full-fledged adults did. Instead he was but a child who, if subjected to enough pain and fear, could turn into a creature most closely resembling a bear or a wolf that was particularly dangerous. Still, compared to other Rifters he was a minimal threat, and was held by the American government to be brutally experimented on through the course of the war. When the war was over and the Order was fully conceived, the Order deemed what was done to Drake as inhumane and eventually he was allowed to move to the Rift-lands, where he was but 12 years old and abandoned on his own. The only reason he survived in what was then a barren and desolate wasteland was thanks to the caretaking of an unlikely figure: Twilight. This was only done however as Twilight could sense that Drake had the same Titan-like powers that he did, and like him somehow he had managed not to turn into a ravenous beast. Twilight took him in so he could study and train him, in the hopes that he could create a weapon that could defeat the Chimera itself. For four years he did this, and then when he considered Drake to be ready, he attempted to use his abilities to make Drake one of his ‘Instruments of War’, which would be the process which brought about his unique hair and eyes. To his delight not only did this succeed, but Drake survived the process after a week of excruciating pain and proved to Twilight that there were some in the world who could survive this. Much to his chagrin however, when the boy had finally finished the process he seemed to have absolute no memory of the last several years of his life, and in fact had a total blanket of amnesia over his memories. In a fit of rage and disgust, Twilight struck him down and left him for dead, unaware of what he had created. Drake would find himself alive again a few days later, now alone in the world but with abilities he did not understand. Alliance: Drake has absolutely no alliance, and instead somewhat naively sees himself as an ally to all
Abilities
Rift: Brazil/Twilight Abilities: Drake is a hybrid however due to the massively negative connotations that exist with the name, and the fact that he doesn’t truly understand his own abilities, he chooses to lie about what he is. Instead he tells everyone he’s from the Russian Rift, and simply has the ability to manipulate momentum. Instead of this made up ability however he has one, singular, and very powerful gift. Strength. Thanks to the strength given to him by being a hybrid and a Titan, and the amplification granted to him by Twilight, Drake has what even he doesn’t realize to be a truly unlimited amount of strength. This means that if given the opportunity, he can withstand a nearly unlimited amount of force, lift almost countless tons, and can punch through practically anything. His body appears to be invincible to any sort of direct physical attack. At this point he has yet to find an upper limit to his strength, and doesn’t realize that there may not truly be any force that gravity on earth can muster that he cannot counteract. Despite this, Drake is not all powerful (see below) Side effects: Drake has one major side-effect that will always prevent him from being an unstoppable force: the source of his power. While most Hybrids, and Rifters in general, garner their energy from physical sources Drakes come from a more empathic source. No one could ever figure out why but his strength is directly paralleled to his emotional balance. So long as he stays perfectly calm and centered, he will retain his strength, however if he becomes conflicted, scared, or loses his faith in the battle he’s fighting, his strength will leave him instantly and he becomes defenseless with little warning. Even his own apparently unbreakable body will become frail and open to attack if this happens.
Personality:
Mission: Drake doesn’t know who he is, or where he came from thanks to the memories stolen from him by Twilight. Because he barely even remembers who struck him down when he first woke up after Twilight’s changes, he simply roams the Rift-land in search of answers. Over the years he has come to remember only one thing from his past, a piece of advice his father gave him: “Drake, some people in the world can’t help themselves. We step forwards to make a difference so that the world can be a better place.” Because of this, Drake intervenes in any situation he feels is bad, and chooses to help all he can no matter what. Weaknesses: While physically Drake doesn’t have any weaknesses, his psychological ones are infinite. Because of his lost memory he tends to be quite naive, and can be manipulated by any who prove themselves smart enough and find a way to trick him. Not only this, anyone who has the abilities to manipulate the mind are his ultimate weakness, as only a little bit of adjustment in his thoughts can instantly bring his powers to halting crash. Strengths and Talents: Drake has a very strong moral compass and attempts to follow it, despite this often leading him down unfortunate paths. Beyond this, he subconsciously remembers Twilight's training through muscle memory and proves himself to be an adept fighter. As he’s traveled the Rift-lands alone, he’s learned basic survival skills to help him get along. Fears: Drake is afraid of finding out what he can become. Over the last four years, he’s met only one other who has survived Twilights changes, and this woman warned him of the blood lust which can occur if his defenses should fall and his life may be threatened. Because of this Drake has a deep fear that if this bloodlust should occur, he may become the Titan that he has deduced that he is. If this were to happen, he’s certain he would never regain control.
Okay guys here's my official main character. I think I went a bit over board with him (his strengths and his weaknesses are both way imbalanced), but I figured I'd keep it since having a character who's so powerful and yet can be so helpless could be fun for everyone. Either way, let me know what you guys think!
