He silently cursed to himself as he stared at his feet, his shoes scuffed by the various rocks and fallen twigs scattered across rough terrain. They weren't his most expensive shoes - in fact, they were his cheapest, being a mere $60 - but it didn't mean he wanted to fuck them up before he even arrived at the party. The soles were dusted with dirt and had some small stones stuck in the tread, and the once-polished black leather was now faded towards the bottom, visible scratches creeping their way upwards. The remainder of the boots were in fairly good condition, though that would probably change drastically if Christopher could get his hands on some vodka. Vodka.... that's exactly what he needed right now, especially with the mild headache slowly creeping its way into existence. Despite his slight wardrobe problems, the boy had an energetic spring to his movements. Start-of-year parties had proven to be quite the eventful, well, events for him, so he wasn't about to pass up the opportunity to go to another one. Besides, he'd always wanted to see what the big fuss about the mountain was. Surely if it was such a dangerously radioactive place, they'd monitor it more closely; he hadn't even seen any protective fences yet. That was, until, he saw tire tracks beneath his boots, and looked up to see a tall, fairly old-looking fence, at either side of an open gate. He smiled to himself, eagerly removing his earbuds and only just discovering the fact that loud techno music had been playing the entire time. Perhaps his mother had a point about him listening at too high of a volume. Not allowing himself much more time to dwell on it, Christopher made his way through the gate, past a rotting sign that had most definitely seen better days, and up towards 'Th m on Lum r ill In .' A smirk tugged at his lips as he arrived to find Claire O'Sullivan stood around with a bunch of guys, forcing him to resist making an inappropriate comment. He recognised the second-tallest of the sausage fest as Clayton, the town's troublemaker who was apparently offended by Christopher's superior presence. Clayton reminded him somewhat of his old self, though he kept that to the back of his mind as he approached what he'd dubbed the Scooby Gang, his mind set on getting into the 'VIP lounge' that he heard the tall one mention. "Jesus, they weren't kidding when they said that even the nerds were invited."" He announced loudly, throwing a knowing glance towards Claire. "Gotta say, I knew you'd run out of guys eventually, but you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel this time." He grinned, stuffing his hands into his pockets and rocking on his heels gently.
