Alberta, Canada
Deep within one of the forests a few miles, stood a man crouched in one of the trees. He was watching over a road that was running just below him. Despite being clothed in a white sleeveless tee and jeans, the forest landscape around him seemed to clothe him perfectly. A Stetson lay over his head, casting a shadow over his eyes that were staring intently into a river. He had been here for quite some time. He was watching for something...waiting. Ever since China, there were a few flashbacks. Of this forest, of this river. There was something about it..something he couldn't quite pick out. It was like, there were holes, in his brain. Well, memories, anyway. No way it could just be a coincidence. A piece of it was here, he just knew it. His forearms rested on his knees as he watched small fish swimming against the stream. Suddenly, from seemingly nowhere, he saw it. It was just a glimpse of something that sped past the other fish in the water. It moved so quickly that if a person were to blink, they would have missed it. It was a fish, but, instead of swimming down the river with the rest of them, it seemed to have flashed into the water for the briefest half of a second. Something else. He'd been seeing the same group of fish and hearing the same group of birds singing from who knows where...Nature never repeated itself like a broken record. Like this was all some kind of sham... Something was off. Once seeing it, he jumped down from the tree and began running alongside the river. He moved quickly, his hat falling from his head. If it weren't for the strap that originally hung down, it would've been cast off completely. He followed the river until it led all the way to a nearby lake. If something would give him a clue as to what was going on, the lake probably has one. Didn't seem like there was anything wrong with it.. He held that position for a few moments and closed his eyes, sniffing the air. Smelled like regular pond scum, yeah, albeit maybe a smell of human shit despite the abundance of other things in the air. Most people might not be able to differentiate between smells like he could, simply due to the fact that their sniffers weren't as in tune as this man. Though, this man, no, this mutant, was not ordinary in the least bit. The man's name, was Logan, or at least that was what he went by these days. This Ol Canuckle-head here was looking for....well, he didn't know what the hell he was looking for, to be honest. But something didn't feel right. He walked over to the lake more directly, knelt, and dipped two fingers into the greenish-blue water. He could feel the water running a bit on his fingers, as it normally would. Though, he could hear a sound. It sounded almost like a generator...No, a pump. Logan squinted his eyes, peering deeper into the waters of the pond to see the damned thing sitting there at the bottom of the lake. It was running...Though, this was all supposedly wilderness here, a "No man's land.". These types of things were usually connected to a building for plumbing. Being that he could see it from the surface of the somewhat murky waters meant that it was a pretty big pump too. That kind of thing would be used to run a facility...Something bigger than some wild-man sticking it out in the thick of it. Though, what kind of facility would operate in the evergreens of Canada? A secret one. SHIELD..? Doubtful. They've got more funding to be able to hide this better. No, these were some other people entirely. The fact that his fragmented and spotty memories led him here didn't quite add up either... Footsteps, heavy ones, were approaching him from behind. His expression shifted to a scowl, then gritted teeth. He pulled his hand from the water slowly, as the steps got closer and closer, balling it into a fist. Snikt! He flipped around from his crouched position, ready for a fight, but, was met with the sight of a Grizzly Bear. There was a soft roar, but it didn't move to attack Logan. Instead, it was more focused on walking over to the lake to get a drink from it. Unfazed by the creature, man let his shoulders slightly relax. However, that was when a phone rang. It was loud and shrill. The bear immediately looked up from the water, snarling as it turned to look at him. Not looking for a fight with the bear right now, Logan took off, the bear in tow. Damnit Fury. He really didn't feel like answering it but felt more like it was just going to escalate, thus he pulled the Satellite phone, courtesy of SHIELD, from his pocket as he moved. "Th' hell do you want?" "Your services are needed. A private shuttle is waiting for you at Chinchaga Airport, in the fifth terminal." - Carter Something else SHIELD can't do on their own..? He was almost casual, ducking behind a tree. The bear followed, but hadn't found him, walking around the tree in circles. With his claws impaling the poor tree with him up about nine feet. He growled a bit to himself. Just when he thought he was on to something...He wouldn't forget this. He'd be back... Logan waited for the bear to eventually lose interest before speaking back up, replacing his hat to the top of his head. "I'm on my way."
