[@ScreenAcne]Seriously, stop talking like that. It makes communication difficult and spoils the tone. 
I propose a secret society that has infiltrated our town to the point where its arms are seamlessly fused to the workings of the town. At surface level they resemble esteemed members of the community, but beneath that their evil seethes. It could very well be connected to or be the source of Mae's secret. Even my character's marriage to her mother could play a role.
