[@ihinka] Thank you! I hope you have time to join us, but if not, that's perfectly fine too. [@Drakey] Good questions! At the moment, I'm working on a section for that to post in the OOC of the RP, but the advancements that will concern most of our characters is that the IRV Howard has some self-repairing capabilities, but still needs oversight as they don't always kick in until a certain point (it's a twenty year old ship), the CARAPACE suits are not only built to resist pressure but can help to negate fall damage up to a certain amount and have a built in interface that allows for contact with anyone with a smartwatch, smartphone, or much larger device of the same nature (in one of the main rooms of the Howard there will be a table with an interactive holographic map of the sea floor that is based both on past excursions and data sent to it by those investigating the Trench on foot). Medicine has advanced too, but I'm still trying to come up with ways to make these advancements useful without making it so that it negates any sense of danger the player has entirely. And yes, you can absolutely play a mechanic, or anyone into techy things! Anyone who typically has any role aboard a ship is fair game for a character. [@Elgappa] If you wanted to make some nod to that story in your CS, either by ways of relation or anything else, that's more than fine by me. We're currently not treating Lovecraft's mythos like everything he's written happened in universe, but I don't mind at all including references to stories here and there! Also, seeing as we now have enough folks interested, I'll see if I can't get my OOC finished before the end of this week. If all goes well, I should have it up by tomorrow morning (according to EST), but as I have family coming up for the day and then my longest day of classes following, I could see it taking a little longer. Thank you all so much for your interest, and I can't wait to get this started! Also, if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.
