Of course not much could be done about that, when people like Chris showed up that shit was bound to happen but still... The night was still young and he wasn't eager to let such a unique opportunity get away from him like this. If this party only happened once a year he had to make it one to remember and frankly, bitching with each other wasn't the way he wanted to remember it. "Okay, so, clearly not the best of friends here." He spoke up as he flashed his most winning smile while pushing himself away from the wall he had been leaning against. "Not the most charming of introductions either but I suppose I'll go ahead and take it. Why don't we put a pin in this um... Er, 'pleasant' little conversation and finish it when we have some good ol' beers in our systems yeah?" Before anyone could argue, or try and interject with any more hostile and unwelcome additions to the already incredibly un-enjoyable discussion, he swung his arm around Hagar's shoulders and gave him a friendly shove. "Let's just get things on the road, eh? I'm itching to get inside and see what sort of excitement is gonna' happen tonight. Mind opening the door for us?" While this conversation occurred Griffin found himself backing away quietly, slightly thankful for the opportunity to escape what was already a fairly awkward situation for him. If he was quite honest he hadn't wanted to get into the VIP section in the first place, after all he'd probably just end up rejecting any sort of 'fun' they were having in there, but it still didn't stop him from feeling particularly embarrassed by the rejection. It's one thing to try and decline an invitation... It's an entirely different one to try and play it off like you never wanted the invite in the first place. "Yeah, you guys go have a good time. Try not to get yourself killed Clay." He spoke abruptly before turning on his heels so he could quickly begin to head towards where the rest of the party was occurring. Yikes... That was even more awkward than if he had just left without a word.
