Namely 90% of its oil and natural gas was from this district as was almost half of its income and industry. Failure at Yekaterinburg would mean in essence the Russian state - as it would cut off Russia from its source of oil and natural gas, as well as half of industrial capacity. While aid from Ukraine and Belarus would be deployed, it was still days and weeks away - as the Presidents were currently embroiled in some heavy infighting on how they should be deployed and lead under whom. That was barely taking into account, the radiation cloud that was spreading to the Western cities and forcing many people to flee West - further straining the situation with their old allies Ukraine and Belarus. Worse was the situation was the fact, that communication was becoming harder and harder - namely contact with the Far Eastern Federal District and Siberian Federal District had been lost. Namely twenty-five million souls had been assumed lost.

Poland, Warsaw
Suffice to say, many members in the AESR community were worried - after the situation with Germany things were slowly developing. And not for the best - as the news and situation that was coming from the East was growing worse. Namely, there were already reports that the Invaders had mutated into something worse. As well was the situation with the sudden influx of refugees near the Baltic province - as many people were fleeing either the radiation cloud or the sight of the alien invaders. Military personnel had already been stationed at the borders - but against the mass of people, it was only a small branch against the breaking dam. AESR was mobilizing no doubt was about that - only that, communication was starting to get worse. So bad was it, that AESR had been forced to switch over to land-lines. It was nothing new, as they had expected several years ago - or rather prepared for the inevitable war with Russia and thus had hardened their lines of communication. It was better than going around blind - as that seemed to be the case, as satellite systems seemed to be failing to respond. Not to mention the fact, of how contact with the UN Project: Moon Base had been severed. President Anna hated to think of the idea of Legacy' sabotage - but she was finding more evidence that Legacy was likely responsible. She soon checked over the numbers on her datapad - five million soldiers at the ready and more being trained. Against a horde of likely a hundred millions, at this moment she was honestly wishing the Russians had invaded instead. At least you could reason with a Russian instead of these...green-skinned freaks.
