There was a charm to older Warcraft, at least from my perspective, which has in part returned with the most recent expansion. It is no original game, or even the Burning Crusade, but things again feel distinct. Cataclysm was notorious for this, being a huge return to form but one that shocked the newer populace too much, hence the "reset" of sorts with everything up until now. I feel that so long as it clings to its identity and what made the game as it were, it might actually survive. Now this is not to agree with some changes they have made - I loathe what they have done with gear for example, not having things such as Dodge, Parry, Hit Rating and the like - but many core aspects like class identity are alive and well, particularly with how artifacts were played out.
