Holly had fucked up even more than she thought at first. Instead of hitting the intended target, the door she had thrown hit a huge metal-plated beast who seemed pissed as hell at the interruption. Her mind was completely blank as the creature propelled itself right towards her, any rational thoughts blocked out by a steady stream of swear words and [color=bc8dbf][i]“we’re gonna die.”[/i][/color] The only action she could think to take was to shield Mandy with her body. It wouldn’t do any good, but at least she would have tried.

Both sisters were surprised when immediate, horrible death [i]didn’t[/i] come. The monster was half-encased in ice and there was a translucent pink barrier shielding them from guns they hadn’t noticed had been turned their way. Realizing that they were safe, at least for now, Holly dropped to her knees, breathing heavily. Mandy crouched beside her, laying a hand on her shoulder.

She laughed a little, [color=bc8dbf]“I can’t believe we’re alive right now.”[/color]

Holly looked up at their saviors, not entirely sure of whether or not to trust them.
