[i]Shira looks like a kid. She’s short, with a small frame and round face that makes her appear much younger than she is. That isn’t helped by what she wears, mostly loose-fitting flowy dresses and bows in her hair. She has big, intense pink eyes that seem like they could bore a hole in you if she stares long enough, and a smile that can make you feel like a very appetizing meal. Her dark hair, when not tied up, reaches just above her chin, and tends to fly out in every direction. She has straight bangs cut short above her thick, expressive eyebrows. She almost always wears a maroon-colored knitted scarf around her neck, and her outfits are usually comprised of dark, cool colors, with some splashes of pale pink.[/i]

[b]Personality[/b]
[i]Shira is a weird, weird person. She may look innocent from the outside, but one conversation with her could easily convince you that she either has murdered someone or will in the near future. She has a strange fascination with anatomy; specifically guts and specifically outside of the body. She takes interest in acts of violence, torture, and cannibalism, and seems more than a little masochistic. If you catch her during her free time, you can usually find her reading a book about serial killers or playing the [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_t2bnp8aoXw]Knife Game[/url]. Despite her enjoyment of blood and guts, she actually doesn’t have any desire to cause harm to others. Her obsession is a safe one; she prefers to observe violence from a third-person perspective (and even then not directly— she gets queasy if she sees a lot of blood in real life) rather than committing it herself. You may not feel like it, but you are safe around her.
Death isn’t Shira’s only love, though; she also loves love. Stories of sappy romance never fail to melt her heart, and one of her favorite pastimes is trying to set up dates for her friends. She loves playing matchmaker, but if someone actually flirts with her, she will get flustered and awkwardly decline. Just like her disinterest in hurting others, she also doesn’t have any desire to actually be in a relationship. It’s a pattern with her; she likes things in theory, observing from the outside, but doesn’t want to experience those things first-hand. It’s probably a good thing she doesn’t want a boyfriend or girlfriend; if she did, she would probably become a textbook example of a yandere.[/i]

[b]Backstory[/b]
[i]Before the Crimson Hearts attacked, the Miller family had it all. Shira’s great-grandfather gained a lot of power and influence in the family’s hometown, Cinder City, and that power only grew as it was passed down by generation. There were many rumors going around that claimed the family had mafia ties that were the origin of its good fortune, but despite what the public said, the Miller family’s place in the city was secure. For the first ten years of her life, Shira lived in a mansion with her parents, her older brother Leon, and her aunts and uncles. Shira’s mother, as the oldest of her siblings, was the head of the family and had little time to spend with her kids. Her father was similarly busy running a large hotel business. Because of the lack of attention from their parents, Shira and Leon became very close, spending most of their time together. Leon had shown aptitude in sports and physical fitness, so when he was old enough, he enrolled in the DWMA, leaving Shira a scarf he had knitted to remember him by.
When Shira was ten, her parents were hosting a huge fancy party at their home, so they sent Shira to a friend’s house for a sleepover. In the middle of the night, Shira woke up to the sound of the city dying around her. By morning, the Crimson Hearts had reduced Cinder City to its namesake. The Miller mansion was one of the first places hit. Shira’s family and home were both gone. When she found out that Death City had already been devastated, she searched desperately for information regarding her brother. She found nothing, though. There was no information on him; no one even knew if he was dead or alive. Shira spent the next five years between foster homes, still trying to find any evidence of the only family she had left. She assumed that if Leon’s body hadn’t been found, he must have been alive, just missing. At fifteen, her search was still fruitless, so she decided to travel to where her brother had last been seen: the newly-renamed Death Haven.[/i]

[i]Shira doesn’t have many combat skills, but she’s extremely resilient. She can take a beating and get right back up and do it again. It helps that pain doesn’t bother her much. If she gets a black eye or a cut, she’s likely to just laugh. If she has to fight, she won’t surrender until she literally can’t get up. She is also fiercely loyal and protective of her friends. As much as she doesn’t delight in causing pain, she will gladly kill for anyone she cares about.[/i]
