A wall exploded, taking one of the guards of the internment camp with it and starting a firefight with the others. A minute later, after flashes of energy, various powers, and many bullets were exchanged the smoke and dust cleared and the mutants who were being kept there were gathered in the central courtyard, their power-suppressing collars removed as they entered the area. A man in what appeared to be technologically enhance body armor stepped onto the porch of one of the guard buildings. "Greetings, my fellow Mutants." he said, his voice amplified by a Speaker collar around his neck. "I am Corona. I have come to liberate you from your captivity. Maybe you've heard of me, maybe you haven't, but I'm sure you've heard stories of my parents, Cyclops and Jean Grey." True, they weren't his real parents, he was merely raised by them from the age of eight, years after his father died, but if he told them that his real parents were Cyclop's brother and some random normie, the story wouldn't have near the impact he was hoping for. "They lived in a much better time, one in which most normies at least tolerated mutants. My parents thought they they could learn to accept us, at least as equals, despite our superiority. They were wrong. Instead, the Normies hunted us down and threw us in camps. They made us the enemy, because they require fear. They feed on it to keep their society together. WE DO NOT. We live on hope, and on our own strength, learning to harness our will to feed our abilities. That is why they fear us. Those who wish to live as sheep, with their politicians as shepherds, will always fear the wild animals who live in freedom." "I now offer you a choice. You can either come with us, and help free our mutant brothers and sisters from tyrants who would enslave them for merely existing, or you can leave, and try and make your way in a world run by those that hate and fear you. The choice is yours." With that he flipped a switch on the side of the speaker collar and went to talk to his soldiers, who were now gathering up everything of value in the camp to either keep or give to those who wished to leave, so that they would at least have a chance.
I've seen a lot of Xmen stories centered around us being the Xmen or a future version of them. I've never seen one where we were a future version of the Brotherhood, though, so I thought I'd start one. That way we can be actual Mutant Terrorists instead of just being labeled as such. I want at least one Co-GM, as I'm running two other RPs now. This will take place in a world similar to that of the show "The Gifted", where it technically isn't illegal to be a mutant, but if you commit even the smallest crime, accident or not, they will treat you like a hardened criminal and a terrorist. In this world Sentinel Services rounds up "terrorists" and puts them in prison camps, not caring who they are or how old they are. You can play as a prisoner or a member of the assault team. I would like to have a teleporter to get us in and out, but that isn't necessary if no one wants to play one. I can easily give Blink a child that works for us if I need one for some reason. Skills: His Aunt and Uncle insisted that he finish high school, and he found he had an interest in science, especially concerning plasma. Dr. McCoy taught him about technology so that he could build devices to control plasma, and together they built a fusion reactor. He was also trained to fight as one of the Xmen, though he never joined them before Sentinel Services declared them a terrorist organization and hunted them down. Personality: He doesn't trust Normies until they've proven themselves a friend of mutants. While he will help out a fellow mutant in need, he believes that people should fight their own battles if they can. He also believes that everyone should take responsibility for their own actions, and won't protect you from your own stupidity. Biography: He never knew his biological father, Alex Summers. His mom didn't really deal with Alex much after she got pregnant, and he died when Kyle was three. For the next three years she tried to raise him on her own, but after a string of abusive boyfriends, one of which found out Kyle was a mutant when he started glowing one night and beat him for it, Kyle was taken away by social services and given to his Uncle and Aunt to raise. They were mutants, after all, and DFCS thought he should be with his own kind. He grew up at the school, hearing more and more stories as time went one about how Humans were treating Mutants worse and worse. When he grew up, however, he left the school and tried to go to college, but after one too many anti-mutant racists attacked him and he almost burnt down the dorm rooms, he was kicked out of college, barely avoiding Arson charges. He returned home to find that a month earlier Sentinel Services had taken out the "terrorist organization" that was "using it as a base, recruitment, indoctrination, and training facility." He decided that if they were going to treat even friendly mutants like the Xmen as terrorists, he was going to give them terrorists to fight. He used an escape tunnel to get into Dr. McCoy's hidden lab and build himself a suit which would focus his plasma aura into a nearly invisible force field and started the Mutant Liberation Army, returning to the mansion a month later to remove anything of value that the MLA might need. His group began fighting back against the SS Oppressors. Equipment: shield suit (can make one based on your powers if you generate a compatible energy type), plasma beam rifle (converts his plasma cutter into a beam for long range, but fairly weak, attacks), speaker collar (for giving speeches), Smart phone (unregistered)
