Things got hot real fast, not just with the arrival of the Tsuchikage but also with the realization of who Jaakuna was. But the situation only escalated even further with the Tsuchikage and his lava jutsu. Date was following the stronger ninja with ease due to his sharingan, and when he lit the floor up he quickly climbed the nearest tree. Even after the jutsu was complete he could not feel the heat coming from the lava below and just shrugged his arms at that. Date was no fool, Jaakuna was a power ninja, the mysterious man with him probably stronger, and then the Tsuchikage which needed no explanation. He knew that this fight was out of his league before things turned volcanic, so Date agree with the Tsuchikage's statement about the retreating if they wanted to live then a strategic retreat needed to happen and fast. 

The words that came out of Kaba's mouth almost caused Date to fall off his branch. The boy wanted to choose now of all times to be a hero, and what help could they offer really? Date caught sight of his barrier ninjutsu but what good would that due if he could not keep up with the fox, and sure Date could pull out the water armor and try to fight him along side the Tsuchikage but that seemed like a worse idea than running. He could understand not wanting to let this transgression go, but was revenge or some false sense of justice worth his life?.....NO!!! 

Date chuckled at Kaba when he asked the Tsuchikage to let [i]them[/i] fight along side him. [color=FA8072]"I agree with Lo d Tsuchikage, we need to go and find our fellow shinobi. This fight is out of our hands."[/color] But before he could make a move Jaakuna sprung into action. Date was quick to recognize the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique, and quickly made the three hand signs necessary for [i]Water Release: Water Armor[/i] and cupped his palms together in an instant water gushed from the small space between his palms and consumed his body making him look wet, but really he was still dry just had a extra layer of skin. What Date did not expect was the explosion that followed the first few shuriken finding their target. His sharingan barley picked up the shuriken right before they touched his tree, and he had little to no time to jump onto a much smaller tree nearby that was closer to the ground. The tail end of the explosion made him smack face first into the tree rather than land gracefully, but his armor held strong and he continued to look for another group of shuriken in the swarm that fell from the sky. 

There were only 3 more trees he could jump to before he was shit out a luck, that's if they did not get blown up before he reached them on while he was on them. The direction he was following would take him out side the lava zone but without help he might not get out of this one.
