I mean, I suppose if she used a large portion of her externally stored ether? But I was more thinking...say, blasting down a door from across a room, at best (and usually she'd use an enhanced kick or shoulder ram, because that's simpler).  The idea of someone ripping apart a tank seems...

Well it seems OP, especially if she can trigger the blast /inside/ something.  What stops her from shredding a person?  ...Or every single monster we come across ever?

I suppose, in theory, a tank might have an aegis around it or overlapping with it that allows her magic to work more strongly, but that still leaves the issue of other humans.  If I go a step further and say that she's drawing on the tank's etheric engine, then perhaps it's workable.  But even then, I think that's less making the tank explode and more making some smaller part of the engine explode, which triggers a chain reaction.  If that's the kind of strength she wields normally, then she'd be able to throw opponents across a room easily, and that seemed to be treading dangerously close to OP levels.

To be fair, I imagine most of our priests are not using much of their reserve ether if they can help it, as there will be no good way to replenish it without spending more time than they can likely spare?  I imagine one or more of the group (perhaps even Ziotea...though if she screws up it'd be /bad/) might be able to help recharge the totems and such if they have a source to drain, but again, time and energy.  Actually, I sorta figured that extraction of ether can be done by a priest with a relatively small device, it's just not usually because the machines are not only better at it, but they don't pass out afterwards from exhaustion.  Back in the day young priest probably had to take turns draining the slaves because they'd need a day of rest before they could return to training.  ^.^  Of course, in that setup one priest would have the equipment to drain a bunch of slaves at once for the same expenditure of energy.

If this doesn't sound reasonable, let me know, but I needed to figure out justification for why Ziotea couldn't draw ether from others.  Or perhaps she can, but trying to drain another person with the ability to use their ether (Rodion) is significantly harder...the latter does seem reasonable.  The device is probably just if you wanna store the ether instead of using it right away.  ^.^

[@Drakey] I kinda do need it to be an Inquisitor of some sort, or Ziotea wouldn't have run away, and that's important.  ^.^;;  I'm sure some low-level inquisitor (or inquisitor in training) might be tasked with catching a thief that can make things explode. Yes definitely we should get details hammered out!  Discord, skype, or even pm are all good, though I've got a serious preference for the first two.
