The rain that fell upon his bare skin was cold and bitter; Of course, that was the least of concern to his discomfort. With the cloth in his mouth to suppress his screams, Chris fell to the stone floor of the cliff as his body slowly turned into black goop. Blackened, tar-like flesh dripped and pooled into the crevice he was in. With his strength melting away it became harder to hold onto the cloth with his dissolving teeth and muscles. His pants fell over the pool and within a minute and a half of time his body had broken down completely; Flesh liquified, bones crumbled, and vital organs that were floating above the bubbling mess of tar that barely mingled with the water dripping onto it. The drops of water that mixed with the puddle soon began to steam as the puddle's temperature began to rise rapidly. The skeletal fragments within the liquid began to rise just as the heat did, remolding and growing in size as it rapidly grew into the frame of the primordial beast that slept within Chris. The fire that coiled around the dragon skeleton seemed to shape it as if it were a solid force that pushed it along like clay. The flames soon became submerged by the tar that began to connect and tether around the newly shaped bones in sinewy strands and seeping masses. The vital organs, no longer resembling that of a human's, floated into their appropriate place before the newly growing tissue and muscle began to form within and around the frame. Blood vessels were traced over as the sharp and keeled black scales grew over the skin. The stone crevice crumbled away from the 20 foot beast that formed from within. Chris's wings spread outward as he released a guttural roar, a war-cry of pride. His eyes could see the trees slowly lumbering towards the lighthouse, and behind them there seemed to be some kind of wall that formed. Were they trying to block them off from the boat? With a brief scan of his heat vision he could see that the wall was giving off a great deal of heat, but otherwise he couldn't see any trace of any actual human...Was this some kind of test or were they trying to slow them down? With Hazel having already prepared her powers, Chris decided to charge head on. The dragon dashed forward in a short gallop before he took off into the air. He slowly curved his direction, dipping to the farthest end of the line of animate trees that he could tell were alive. With his throat and belly glowing a brilliant crimson, Chris unleashed his flames; Spraying down the tree monsters as he curved across them to incinerate as much as he could in a row before his breathe ran dry.
