The exact origins of the depicted tome are nearly impossible to trace, but the brittle leaf of the pages and their nearly decayed wording have given possible allusion to being on par with other well known scriptures that have dictated religious doctrine. Whilst The Atis is predated to extend yonder the origins of life and the individual soul, it was curiously discovered during the earthquake of the Industrial age when the Badlands was young within conception and build and mechanical finesse came way into the economic up-climb, the resulting tragedy of the natural disaster pried open the tombs of the Paramorlian Cathedral, revealing the dry rot pocket of crumbling sediment that had curiously preserved the text. The language is a lavish and near poetic sort, the kind that old Shakespearean aficionados claim that could be derived from his works, or rather, by the loose dating, that inspired the grand play writer during his reign. Such claims have given speculation that The Atis is a near controversy and has produced various affirmations of being a sham on literature and original pages, such like The Bible, that depict the beginning of time. The Atis has since been translated into a cryptic text, due to a dwindling knowledge of forgone languages and arts, but the illustrations through the pages themselves provide another testimony to the peculiar words and the story within. Betwixt the margins are various scrolling images of what could be called serpentine like dragons that bear likeness to mythical creatures of both fur and claw, scale and shimmering eyes. Grand paintings and fine details utter of a unity between two sides of both fire and ice, light and darkness, and the duality that exists within all of life. Man and Woman, the Sun and the Moon, the Earth and the Sky and so on. Within those scrolling images and poetic stanza is the core belief that is eerily similar to whispered services of a cultural belief that all things once lived as a singular soul and person, much like Adam and Eve, before being derived into separate beings to assist in managing of the world. Much like how one created the creatures of the world, and the other came to name them. The two dragons however, once split, are said to never twine and touch again, and to come in contact is believed to cause a tremendous bought of both stress and agony. Such reasoning beyond their rather mournful parting has yet to be found, as the depths The Atis are many pages long with only a handful of individuals the bear the knowledge to read them.
