NAME: 「Shione Tohsaka」 TITLES: 「Shi-chan」 GENDER: 「Femme」 AGE: 「20」 BEHAVIOR: 「Peculiar—a "modern magus." The natural schism between the magus' world and the church, which the Tohsaka family straddles the fringe of relations between, has carved into Shione the image and behavior of someone very moderate, well-spoken, patient and careful. This is in juxtaposition to her actual behavior. She rushes through everything. Her routine, the food she eats, her schoolwork and even her conversations. She is a naturally impatient person whose upbringing and environment demands patience of. She's fairly social and has grown into the respectable role of a very respectable family's heir, and in spite of her lack of outstanding or unusual merit, garners some modicum of respect in the community for this. Where she goes, a popular and amicable reputation goes with her. But that's only natural, isn't it? After all—when it's a war of prestige that one's life is directed toward, acclimating herself as best she can with the city it's to be hosted in isn't just beneficial. It's mandatory. Why did it have to be her? Why does her way to the Root have to be painted with blood?」 BIOGRAPHY: 「It was infuriating. Every one of her family's traditions pounded into her, every modicum of a magus' pride and their ultimate desire set onto her shoulders. She learned to carry that weight and embraced it. She acknowledged it. And yet it wasn't good enough, because the very man that her busy family trusted to educate and guide her inevitably became a better prospect of a Master than she was. He was older, more experienced and more willing to commit absolutely everything to the war over the Grail that she had been lead to believe would be her battle to fight for her whole life. Of course, she'd never really wanted it—nonetheless, the nearer it came, the nearer that Shione felt like she was to losing a "purpose." It was nonsensical, but it was her truth. As if something was being taken from her. Something that nothing she accomplished or sought would ever serve as a salve to the wound left on her pride. This festered until it became a sort of obsessive fervor that forced her apart from the close relationship between him and herself. Everything that she learned and every bit of progress she made was something to keep from him—something that she had to herself and that he couldn't. The years became longer as the war neared. With minimal guidance and no real "talent" to speak of, Shione engineered a pair of twin bracelets. A Mystic Code. It was not incredible but nonetheless, for her age, even something so crass and in the infancy of refinement was a testament to her passion. And that is why, perhaps, that one day—half-asleep at her desk in a history class, on a day the same as any other, that her left hand burned. For all of her parent's intentions to send their representative to war, the Grail chose Shione's "desire" over her tutor's "commitment." Faded Command Seals had been painted onto her hand and would later on become vibrant red, interlocked rings when she offered her oath to the ritual. The time between her branding as the Tohsaka family's Master and the actual beginning of the war were tense years for her, both between her and her tutor and her and her parents—she sought solace in her connections to the church because of this. She was not nearly the religious kind of person that theirs were, but the sanctity of their establishments and their willingness to have her time was a great relief. As it would turn out, this has made the war all the more frustrating for her.」 ORIGIN: 「Dividing」 AFFINITY: 「Fire」 CIRCUIT COUNT: 「C」 CIRCUIT QUALITY: 「D」 OD: 「C」 MYSTIC CODE: 「Ahriman and Ahura Mazda, twins of Zoroastrianism whose natures are at odds, are whom Shione's two bracelets are designed in the abstract image of so as to be able to "take in their nature." This is unfortunately far-fetched and is a powerful quality that, perhaps, her Mystic Code will accommodate in the assumed years to come after the war. As of the time being it is moreso the driving force behind their craftsmanship; the bracelet for her left wrist is silver and the bracelet for her right wrist is gold, and the design of both is that a series of woven links begins and ends at a jewel for each. An onyx jewel for the silver bracelet, that which represents Ahriman, and a white diamond for the gold bracelet, that which represents Ahura Mazda. The jewels are both of B-rank quality and are not solely placed to be conduits for Magecraft. They are equally important in regards to design, as they keep the interwoven chain from being connected the whole way around—in this regard, they symbolize the "choice" that exists between good and evil and are why the links are oriented in opposite directions between the two. The actual, current function of Shione's Mystic Code is fairly simple. The silver bracelet serves as a medium through which the curse, Gandr, is significantly enhanced in power with some variance depending on discretion. It also allows her to quickly forge fire entirely fueled by the jewel's power. The golden bracelet in contrast creates a temporary, ethereal "blindfold" around Shione's head and in front of her eyes, through which she can perceive, identify and analyze Magecraft or residue left behind by magic. Unlike her silver bracelet, the golden bracelet's effect lasts for exactly thirty seconds and requires a week to recuperate the expenditure of mana. Depending on how heavily she draws on the silver bracelet's jewel, it can take anywhere from half a week to a month to recharge. The Mystic Code, unlike with the Tohsaka family's conventional jewelcraft, is not designed to be expended and discarded and so—as long as she wears the bracelets—they will naturally draw from the magic circuits in her arms and steadily refill their reserves.」 JEWEL RESERVES: Rank D: 10 Rank C: 3 Rank A: 1 SKILLS: 「Lapidary, silversmithing and goldsmithing.
