Fillan could tell Kludd was upset even before he opened his mouth as Kludd more or less pulled him back to his seat after his rather awkward expedition with Ashley. Fillan crossed his arms and was about to open his mouth and explain how he didn't know Ashley hated guys when he heard the Headmaster begin speaking. He had almost forgotten about her, the lady-with-hawk-eyes, in the midst of all these other events happening within the break of her speech.

Respectfully, Fillan turned his full attention to the Headmaster, even if he did find her eyes pretty startling. He was starting to get accustomed to it. In fact, her eyes were the least of his concerns at this point. Fillan was too busy trying to register what she was saying, it all came together too late.

REEEEEEEEEEEEE!

The sirens began to ring, and Fillan could feel the atmosphere of the classroom take a complete shift. He was trying to fight the rising panic growing inside him, Wait, we're going to fight, right now? I don't think I'm ready for any of that yet, shouldn't we learn basics first?

There wasn't anymore time to think as the lights went out in the room. He could feel Kludd tense up and remembered he didn't like the dark. Strange, mutated forms slipped into the room. Fillan was slightly curious about these creatures, but he decided that now would not be the best time to indulge his curiosities. As a bubble formed around him and Kludd, Fillan looked up towards the ceiling and narrowed his eyes. If the lights are what I think they are- light bulbs, then it should be run by electricity. Maybe I can do something to get the lights to come back on...

Despite all the chaos that surged around him, Fillan tried to clear his mind of all things and concentrate on reconnecting a power source. He stood there, completely motionless for a minute. He didn't ever use his powers, a choice he was beginning to regret as he concentrated. A faint glimmer, a spark caught Fillan's eye. I'm almost there! Just a little more... The lights above suddenly turned back on, blazing with full illumination. The display blinded Fillan for a moment and he averted his eyes away from the lights, sighing softly.
