There was Ephra, and his great power, and the heavens. He created many heavenly beings, but none of them made him feel less lonely, they were all his servants none of them thinking for themselves or beyond their simple creation... So Ephra created the Sun, the Stars, the Moon, Life, Seas, Storms, Fate, and Nature.. He gave them pieces of himself so that they would become something more than his typical creations, and, they flourished… ...Because of the light of the sun, Darkness was born as well tearing itself out of Ephra… And as darkness took hold, the gods learned of slumber and in their slumber, Dream was born... ...So, the Gods, finding their world was empty created new beings. So these beings would grow strong and plentiful, Ephra made Fertility. Many of these beings were powerful and fed on others. It was in this time Ephra saw fit to make them their own God, Predation and, so it was. When it was found they were not immortal and passed from the world, Ephra, found the spirits of the new creations were simply wandering and lost, so he created Death and the Underworld… ...With this creation Ephra sat back and enjoyed his children, thinking all was well. Soon enough, he found that there were many creations. He created knowledge. Knowledge was born to analyze, seek out, and keep the knowledge of anything and everything created. To record it… ...so it was that more creatures came into being. Monsters of all shapes and sizes rose up from excess magic flowing from the heavens. Ephra created the god of Monsters to watch over them and control them. His great dragons in the heavens became too numerous and large to stay there, so, he cast them to the mortal planes and created the god of Dragons to watch over them… ...All was well for many eons. As time passed though something happened that was not expected by the Beings of Heaven. Creatures began to move on the world that were not creations of the Gods. They were Mankind, and, Mankind knew no creator. They advanced without the hand of the Gods, progressing and using the world around them as they saw fit. From them were spawned Heavenly being who were not entirely Ephra’s children but were beings of his own power, formed by the minds of Man. Lust, Love, Pride, Murder, Mischief, Pain and Loss, and Corruption came to the small groups of Man and started to guide them. They heeded these dark voices and turned wrathful eyes Heavenward. Thus dawned The Time of Rage. As anger spewed forth from the different mortals and grew into great conflicts where millions of mortals died. It was from this that War was born. War was not the only child of this time though. So many died and yet many did not rest. As the dead suddenly walked there came another force, Undeath. As the Time of Rage came to a close Ephra saw that Mankind would need to be ruled and made The God of Mankind as their steward. As this was done Ephra stood and declared in a voice that was thunder on the wind and roaring in the ears of all. He declaired that he had made all and all that came from his creations was his as well. He declaired his Kingship of the Gods and all had to submit. Finally there was peace again and The Time of Rage passed away... ...The peace was not last though. In time, War came to Life and they looked on each other with desire. So it was that War and Life fell in love and from them came the goddess Koritomo. Ephra, displeased that one of his children would chose to be with a god of Mankind banished War from Life’s realm, and, she from his. The two were forbiddon to see each other… … War soon grew tired of Ephra’s oppressive rule and distaste for the gods of Mankind. He plotted, preparing for an uprising that would strike Ephra down. Fates, ever watchful for events of the future saw that this would be a cataclysmic event and knew that War would march on his father. He moved forth, not being able to see what would happen beyond his confrontation of War, seeing it would be the end of himself. He did so anyway, hoping his words would hold sway over the passionate God’s heart. As Fate blocked the path of War his words fell on deaf ears and Fate was struck down by War. The death of Fate was the first casualty of The Civil War and what would be the starting point for much violence to come… ...The Civil War raged for a century. Gods fought Gods and all were driven into the conflict in some way, even those who sought to be neutral. Gods and their follower all fought, and died. Love, Progress, and Pride all fell to the horrors of war. Love was struck low by Murder as she refused his advances. Progress slain by Stars for his ever heightening gaze. Pride fell to Justice as all is humbled before the hammer of the Heavens… ...The climax of the The Civil War came. In a battle larger than any ever seen, two armies met just outside of the Heavenly Gate. In the battle tens of thousands died and the Gate was destroyed. In the sway of battle Ephra and War came before each other. The two fought in a clash the gods had never seen before, the earth and heavens shook with their fury. Neither would declare victory though as the two slew each other, many saw them fall, their King and War dead. The chaos of battle was not over so quickly though. As the battle finally came to a close the field was searched by those there, yet, no one could find the bodies of the slain Gods...
