I usually don't go for vampires, but they fit this environment really well. Have you ever seen the movie [i]30 Days of Night[/i]? It's about vampires invading a small Alaskan town during the 30-day darkness, where nobody can call for help and they can hunt 24/7. With no sunlight to worry about, and in such an enclosed space, vampires could be pretty scary.
