I'm really not going for a dark/serious character here, something more light you know?
Gender/orientation: Male, straight Height: 6’0” on the dot, although he appears much bigger when in his power suit of course. Looks closer to 6.5-7' in his suit. Appearance: Brown hair, light but tanned skin. Blue eyes. Thin, athletic body like someone who works out regularly but with the intent of staying in shape rather than building muscle. Not a particularly attractive face, moderate features, clean shaven with light scarring from recent adolescence. Costume appearance: Wears a power suit like many tinkers, appears to be some sort of composite or polymer. Very form fitting, doesn’t appear to hamper mobility. Since the whole thing is 3d printed, Ifrit changes color often but prefers at least one bright striking color like flame orange or striking green and an accompanying complimentary mild color. Between the panels of the suit it appears to glow with power (really just LED’s) but has multiple smoke dispensaries which can carry very real effects. Always seems to be accompanied by a thin cloud of vapor, leaking from various point in the suit. Face is completely hidden.
History:
Bryson was always a “nice” person. He has never gotten any joy or satisfaction out of causing someone pain or discomfort, the idea doesn’t deter him but it doesn’t sound interesting. He was raised in what he believed was an ideal situation, good family life, not poor but not wealthy, comfortable. He was always a “golden boy,” always did the “right” thing, got good grades, helped people when he could, was good in church. Raised in an extremely religious family, but also taught to value education, he valued the concept of “truth” and “doing what is right.” The cracks started forming when the two started to come into conflict. Toward the end of his high school career, he began questioning things, doubting the church he had always been raised in. His questioning was not handled well by his family or community, he was heavily ostracized and despite always doing what he thought was the right thing, life was getting harder. Stressed and lonely from his strained relationships with his family, friends, and community, all for doing what he thought was the correct thing to do, something finally gave when his high school sweetheart died. The death could have been avoided, but a strict religious philosophy held by her family prevented her treatment. Emotionally shattered by the collapse of his ideals, the stress of his ruined relationships and the confusion at what he should be doing, he finally triggered at the age of 16. Personality: Bryson took the opportunity his powers provided him to leave the community of his childhood and join the wards under the name “Djinni.” He essentially cut off his former life, embracing the open possibility of his new life. Throwing himself into the work, over the next year he would regain a sense of security and confidence, and he still has a strong sense of empathy and desire to help others, but it is tinted through a lense of cynicism and frustration with humanity. He ethically goes between a desire to save other people, and seeing them as mere machines, tools to be used to achieve his goals. He can’t help feeling sorry for people who suffer, but he also feels that it is foolish and pointless in the grand scheme of things. He has a sense for the incongruity of how the PRT is controlled by the civilian population, and feels as though most capes are simply actors on a stage, not seriously consistent with their alleged goals. He seeks people with direction, and has a strong appreciation for consistency and use of persuasion without force. Despite having an appreciation for the value and importance of lying, he dislikes people who do it. He dislikes inconsistent ethical systems, or anything her perceives as misleading. He is hardly locked in to the concept of being a “hero”, despite joining the protectorate, because he is well aware of how inconsistent the system is and how poor it is at fulfilling its own goals. He still wants to do the right thing, but is no longer sure of the concept of morality, or what he should really prioritize in his life. For now, he is taking the path of least resistance. Conversationally, Ifrit is light hearted most of the time. Appreciates good humor, tries to stay outwardly positive, is very focused on other people in conversation, still tries to be kind. Immediate history: Now, recently graduated from the wards and under his new name, Ifrit, he has been sent to join the fresh but critically understaffed Boston protectorate. Brysin has now served under the PRT for a combined 2 years. Despite all appearances however, he is not fully mature in terms of his ethical system or life goals. A life in the protectorate is safe, but he doesn’t see himself going through a lifetime of service only to die a violent death, and further the Protectorate does not truly align with his view of the world, or even his most altruistic of goals. In this chaotic and charged situation it remains to be seen what Bryson will decide.
Abilities: Tinker 6 Tinker focus: Polymers. Details: Has a deep understanding of polymer chemistry (molecules with repeating parts, that’s plastics, proteins, fibers, carbon nanotubes, spidersilk, etc.) Allows him to quickly understand already existing ones, design new ones, and manipulate them on a level nobody else can. Side ability of being able to see weak points in polymer materials as well. While his tinker abilities are largely material based (creating super materials with high strength/durability and low weight, think Taylors spider silk on steroids, or other extreme properties like fireproofing.) He also has Electroactive polymers (artificial muscles, material that can be both manipulatable like clothing and then extremely stiff when powered, batman’s bulletproof cloak/armor were based on this) 3d printers, electroconductive polymers (3d printed/pure plastic computers) solid state polymer based batteries, chemical agents both airborn, biological in the form of proteins (bonesaws anti-power pryons are proteins) and foam like containment foam, and an understanding of proteins and DNA. He cannot manipulate DNA in organisms since he doesn’t know what his modifications will do, he has no medical knowledge of that type. Essentially he understands DNA to the same degree that Armsmaster understood computer code. He might be able to make a DNA hard drive for example, and can certainly design protein based agents, like the prions (which are proteins) (spoiler) bonesaw used to disable people powers temporarily.)
Basic tactical information: Ifrit is not a good front line fighter. Although more then capable in offensive situations where he holds the initiative, or element of surprise, he is poorly suited to continuous combat situations. In large scale operations he functions in a supporting role, cleaning up disabled enemies or taking advantage of weak points, serving a sort of battlefield control/intelligence role, covering the gaps in his allies defenses, and getting emergency help for downed team mates. Works very well on a team, is independently effective only so long as he has the initiative. Very effective at surprise or stealth situations. Like most tinkers, if he knows what he is up against he can come up with something to counter his enemies’ strengths and take advantage of their weaknesses, given enough information and time.

Known, commonly used mainstay tech: -Powersuit: Like most tinkers, Ifrit’s pride is his powersuit. It is built with 3d printed parts, which allows it to be incredibly small for all that it carries. Each component uses redundant solid state LiPo batteries or graphene super-capacitors with integrated computers for analyzing his body movements so that the built in electroactive polymer (EAP) muscles can magnify his strength, the muscles are dense and make him around 2x as strong. Essentially, he will be above average human strength, but the low weight makes him not able to compete with any true brawler, since his suit doesn’t carry much momentum, but he is still strong and able to pack a punch. Because the armor is made of extremely high yield polymers it is incredibly strong for both its weight and size, coated in fire/heat resistant polymers. The extremely high strength to weight ratio of the suit allows Ifrit to climb and jump with superhuman strength, but he can’t fly or anything too crazy. The hands and feet use high grip polymers that make him not quite as good of a climber as a gecko, but with the help of upward momentum he can scale buildings quickly. Although the suit is coated in fire resistant polymers to prevent it from burning, it is still vulnerable to high temperature situations since it produces a lot of heat and is prone to overheating if it goes for too long without the opportunity to cool itself. It is certainly extremely durable, since it is made out of polymers that make spidersilk, Kevlar, and High Molecular Weight Polyethylene look like twine. Bullet proof, and against conventional threats slash proof, it is hard to ouncture but it is thin and has limited padding so if you hit hard enough Ifrit himeslf is still quite breakable on the inside, as he has no way to limit g forces. All over the suit are ports where smoke seems to leak out of. Ifrit can redirect the same vents to carry actual chemical agents but they are often used for the effect to give him a smoky afterimage, largely aesthetic but it can also be used for stealth since a lot of smoke can be generated to mask his position. His whole body is sealed inside this suit, and he carries reserve oxygen, co2 scrubbers, and chemical/bio agent resistant air filters so he can breathe. It should be noted that his suit is not always sealed, but it can be, such that no chemical or bacteria on the outside should be able to get in when sealed. The suit is designed to a tolerance of at least 1 atm of pressure on the inside, so hypothetically Ifrit could survive in space although his suit is relatively radiation resistant, it isnt built to handle the extreme temperatures of space and holds a very limited amount of air in reserve (3 minutes) and would not be recommended for such applications. -Technically the same device, but these are sub-modules. First, protein based tranquilizer darts, shot from the wrists. Ifrit has more than one type of dart and can adjust dosage on the fly to ensure he doesn’t do permanent damage by overdosing a target. For example, some darts are fast acting to (relatively) quickly disable muscle movements, and others are for long term incapacitation. He can also adjust the firing velocity. Keep in mind that I am taking a relatively realistic take on how these drugs act on human bodies, and even the fastest acting agents take minutes to actually have any effect on a target. Unless of course you don’t mind totally overdosing, but that would kill them and Ifrit is, for now, a good guy. -Also wrist mounted, are nozzles for both smoke/aerosol sprays, things like super pepper spray or even incapacitating agents, or prions. There is also a containment foam launcher, but its capacity is very limited because of the relatively slim profile of Ifrits suit. -(recent addition) On the back side of his helmet is a smoothly integrated ridge which can actually be detached and reatached to Iftrits hand. It is an extremeley durable, unfolding baton for close quarters combat. Part of it has Taser prongs, the output strength of which can be adjusted on the fly from inside the suit. -(recent addition) Usually on his back, Ifrit carries a handful of "grenades," which essentially high density canisters filled with smoke or chemical agents he may need in the field. -What suit would be complete without a grappling hook? This grappling hook has no retraction mechanism however, and has a weak deployment mechanism. It functions more like a harpoon but uses super strong and thin polymer amide cord. More for utility/tying targets up, but rope is always useful. -The last trick on his suit is the supercomputer built into his helmet. It isn’t like Armsmasters combat analyzer, but it does use DNA hard drives to store a vast quantity of information in a tiny space. He has stored essentially the entire internet which he incrementally updates daily, but particularly all the info from the PRT and parahumans.net so he can quickly get information on any targets using his built in HUD in his suit. He was given special access by the PRT to be able to store information on a personal drive because of the relatively un-hackable nature of the DNA based computer. -variants: Like any tinker, adaptability is Ifrit’s strength, and he has an advantage since his suits are relatively inexpensive to manufacture via 3d printing. He has multiple suits for different purposes. Like a truly fireproof suit with very little muscle but can withstand high temps for long periods. A containment foam based suit. A sniper mod for his tranq launcher. A brawler based suit that is heavy and Ifrit has strong distaste for because of its lack of mobility. A flight based suit with unfolding EAP wings, only leg based artificial muscle, and a reduction in other capabilities. A scuba suit, basically what it says on the tin. -Drones: Although Ifrit has a myriad of drones, he almost always uses two for the same purposes and he only has two AI. The Ai are actually very unsophisticated and were not designed by Ifrit. They are unable to engage in combat on their own and are essentially only capable of limited navigation on their own, like staying in an area, keeping a view on a target, or going from point a to b. Most specific maneuvers require direct control by Ifrit via his HUD helmet. The first is named Pixie, and is a small drone in the standard quadcopter configuration. Only about 1 foot long and 10 inches wide, it is fitted with a low capacity tranq dart (6 dart) launcher, and a handful of capsules to hold smoke grenades or chemical agents. It is extremely fast however and is primarily used to scout out enemy locations, gather information, and occasionally attempt to catch a target off guard with a tranq dart. It can’t do much besides go from point a to b without Ifrit’s direct control. Pixie is very quiet for a drone, and is suited to stealth operations. It is a favorite tactic of Ifrit to use Pixie to confuse an enemy by using smoke for example to make it appear as though there are additional parahumans present. The second drone is named Griffin, and is actually quite large at about 8 feet by 7. Also a standard quadcopter, Griffin is typically either landed nearby or hovering high above the position of engagement. Strong enough to carry one average sized person, it can be used to deploy an individual rapidly (although Ifrit actually hates doing this since you have to lay down suspended in the drone’s underbelly, or in the case of Ifrit himself his suit has a locking mechanism on each of his hands and his back, any of which will hold him) or extract an individual in need of medical attention. Pixie is usually carried by Griffin, who serves essentially as a supply vehicle or pack mule to Ifrit. Griffin carries extra batteries, ammunition, and medical supplies as well as Pixie. Griffin is mounted with a standard containment foam dispenser which Ifrit can use to cover a downed target provided it is air accessible. Griffin also has a larger tranq dart "sniper rifle" but it is difficult to use at range because of air currents, stability when flying in the air, and because Griffin is both relatively slow and noisy, plus the cost of getting Griffin engaged in combat (it isn’t super durable) is often higher than keeping it in reserve. It serves as air surveillance with a suite of sensors like infrared and the like. Griffin is quiet enough to where it won’t be detected by most people when high above, but if it attempts to get in close it will be quite noisy and obvious.
