Maiko rushed through the streets of Amegakure, heading for the Leaders Office where his sensei had summoned him. some of the villagers quickly moved out of his way and had expressions of fear on their faces, they all knew who he was but that didn't bother Maiko. he knew that the reason for him having to meet his master at Leaders Office was to decide on him joining the other Jinchuuruki in their mission to spy on the Leaf Village and know they're possibly planning. their response to the last time the republic sent a squad of spies to learn what was going within Konohagakure was violent and clearly a warning to the Shinobi Republic that Konohagakure could be a dangerous enemy. Maiko had his criticisms about the republic, he believed that at end of the day the system benefited the Great Nations more than the minor ones. he understood the reason for the republic's creation was to prevent war and keep the peace between all the nations, but what was strange about it all was that out of all the countries why would Konohagakure show such hostility to the Shinobi Republic? the stories of great shinobi like Naruto Uzumaki and Jiraiya the Toad Sage who both hailed from konoha and sought to bring peace to the shinobi world was known far and wide. how could the same village be so against being part of a system that brought peace? Maiko never said this to anyone, but he wondered if Konohagakure knew something about the republic that Amegakure didn't, and if so then he wanted to find out what. so if he was assigned to this mission with the other Jinchuuruki he would try to find out the truth behind Konohagakure's hostilities to the republic. he soon came to Leaders Office and saw his master Hanso waiting for him by the entrance to the building. "I am here at your summons sensei" Maiko said with a polite bow. "Good, follow me Maiko" he replied motioning with his hand to follow him. the two shinobi walked pass a couple of guards as went through the open doors to the Leaders Office. the building was big and had many floors, this was where the council of Amegakure ran the nation. they soon came to main room at the top of the building and entered. there was a long table with several men and woman seated around it. they all turned to look at Maiko and Hanso when they entered. "thank you for joining Hanso" an man who appeared to be in his forties said as they approached the table. "Yours and the council's will is our command Lord Ukyo." "Do you know what our reason for summoning you here with your master Maiko Azzaki?" an elderly woman asked. "It is about the republic's plan to infiltrate Konohagakure and discover what is going on with their hostilities, madam Akora." "Correct young one, the Shinobi Republic is worried that such a nation like Konohagakure could pose a threat to the peace of the shinobi world, and they want to send a squad of the Jinchuuruki to spy on the village. as you are aware, you are the host to Isobu the three tails and the republic has requested that you accompany the squad of Jinchuuruki. we have decided you shall join the other hosts and partake in infiltrating Konoha and you will be journeying with few of our chunin." Ukyo said calmly. "Lord Ukyo, am I not to accompany him?" Hanso asked. "No you are not, we need you hear in case the mission goes badly, there may be war if the Jinchuuruki fail their mission." "I understand Lord Ukyo" he replied with another bow. "good" Ukyo said, and then turned to Maiko. "are you ready to accept this mission? it is very high rank one." "Yes i am Lord Ukyo, I will represent my village with pride and honor." Maiko replied with smile, and Ukyo chuckled. "It's always a good sight to see our youth so bright with pride and determination. Maiko, meet the chunin tomorrow when you are ready to leave and be careful." "Yes Lord Ukyo" he responded, and with a few words farewell him and sensei left the room and exited the Leaders Office. Maiko was excited to be getting a mission such as this and was ready to show the world what he was made of. his master gave a few words of advice and warned him about enemy ninja. Maiko understood and said his farewell to his sensei and went home to prepare for his journey. when the next day came he headed for the entrance of Amegakure with his staff Orunami in hand and met the three chunin who were to escort him to the place where the other Jinchuuruki were. they didn't say much and Maiko knew that he wouldn't be striking up a conversation with them anytime soon, but that didn't take away his excitement for being assigned to such a mission. the head chunin told him to follow them and try to keep, as if Maiko needed to be told to keep pace with them, he was a Jinchuuruki after all. they left the village behind and set out into the country of Amegakure, headed for wherever the other Jinchuuruki were now. "
