H I L D A

Hilda wasn't expecting many social interactions before the opening ceremony began, which seemed evident from the people who would simply give her friendly nods in her direction. She wasn't sure why - perhaps standing against a wall looking all dark and brooding had somehow gained the attention of some - but she liked to believe they meant well. So when a fellow student decided to approach her, Hilda flinched. She wasn't exactly prepared to engage in small talk so early on in the day. Hilda looked up - which was something she rarely found herself doing - to face a boy dressed in notably formal and smart clothing. A purple tuxedo it seemed, upon closer inspection. She had to admit that his choice of attire was a little strange for a student, heck, she was questioning if he even was a student because of that. His offer to let her borrow one of his coats was also strange. Was she really shivering that much that people were beginning to notice? Hilda lifted her hand in apology and softly shook her head. Although his offer had good and well meaning intentions behind it (to her assumption anyways), she thought that her own large coat was enough to keep her alive. Hilda simply smiled at him as a way to show appreciation for his concern, as well as for being the first person to try and have a conversation with her since she arrived. Her face didn't blatantly show it, but his actions were very much appreciated. But apparently, a train was due to arrive, according to the headmaster's words. Hilda saw no sight of one. "...and thirdly, I think I'll continue this introductory speech on the train. That would be so much more exciting, don't you think?" said the headmaster. That was until it did come into sight in that split second, a powerful gust of wind knocking one of the floating fairies into her face. Hilda's eyes widened. "I hope you can pardon me for the abrupt rudeness over the, erm... one-sided conversation... and the ending to it all," the boy said, and Hilda could only shake her head once again to tell him not to worry about it. She found it ever the more strange when he made a short bow to her, but nevertheless, she responded with a short nod, giving the boy a gentle smile as he did to her. "Regardless, mayhaps I might see you again, I suppose? My offer still stands, after all." “Ah...” The boy left quickly alongside the rest of the new students to board the train, and as soon as she reached out her hand to actually talk, he was already gone. Hilda noted that she definitely had to get better at this whole social interaction thing, because it was only when the boy had disappeared that she remembered to ask for his name.

Hilda followed the rest of the students into the rather glamorous looking train and took a seat, clutching her bags as she sat down by a window. She gazed out of it as she waited for other students to board and for the headmaster to continue his introduction. Nothing intriguing had actually caught her eye, but Hilda rarely ever got out of her own estate back at home. Riding on a special train like this was sort of a first for her. But then the train started to move. Really, really fast. Hilda was not prepared, she wasn't even used to moving at such high speeds. The abrupt movement of the train sent her head slamming into the seat in front of her, and by the time the short journey ended, Hilda thought she was seeing stars. She had tried her best to concentrate as the headmaster spoke, but having your head crash into someone else's seat made it that much harder to do so. And once she had stepped off the train, her nose began to bleed. Curse her inexperience with absurdly fast trains, Hilda was seeing red all over her coat. Curse her choice of coat as well. Bright red didn't exactly blend in well with the colour grey. She held her left sleeve to her face and had her right hand scramble around in her pocket for the campus map, because if there was one place where she could clean herself up away from the public eye, it would be her dorm room. Dorm 6... It was far. Fortunately, not many people were walking in the same direction as her. The mess hall could wait. Unfortunately, on the way to her dorm, Hilda caught sight of a familiar purple tuxedo by one of the dorm buildings. She immediately knew who it was; there couldn't possibly be anyone else in the school who was dressed up like some nobleman's butler. Hilda's stained coat made her look like she had just murdered someone, and the one person that could possibly catch sight of her in this sorry state just happened to be someone she actually recognised. Flushing a bright embarrassed red, Hilda bolted, hoping she would find her dorm room soon. She had hoped she would be able to ask for the boy's name another time, but this was not the way she expected to see him again. [@Savo]
