They'd fought each other, and on the very first day? She rubbed her forehead and shook her head to herself. She couldn't imagine that ending any way but her sister getting her ass handed to her on a platter. She immediately began to re-evaluate her opinions of this boy's personality. Probably, it wasn't just because of Fumika's appearance, but rather because he'd felt guilty about winning. But as he went on, Asuka couldn't help but be surprised. "'The timid type?'" She parroted back, and one could practically hear the air quotes. "It's not that. She just ignores anyone she doesn't feel like dealing with, cause they're 'not worth her time,' or something like that. Honestly, it's childish and stupid." The younger Motome scratched her head with a frown. Indeed, that was always the way it had been, but even so... Seeing this strangely dedicated boy made her almost want to doubt herself. Oh my god, he's even blushing. Just what did sis do to catch the eye of a guy like this?! However, while thinking these sorts of things, she couldn't help but realize something that made her almost feel sorry for the kid. After all... "If you don't believe me, didn't she just run off back there without saying anything to you? Even though you went out of your way to help her, you just got totally ignored, didn't you?" She sighed with a shrug. "Don't take it personally, though. She's like that to everybody. I mean, I'm her sister, and she doesn't even talk to me if she can help it." Even despite her attempts to warn him, though, the boy didn't seem any more inclined to listen than Fumika herself, and just pressed on with his questions, like asking if she was alright. How the hell was she supposed to know that? She could never tell what her sister was thinking, after all. And yet, actually, from the way he spoke, it almost seemed like... "Wait, you can actually tell stuff like that?" Asuka blinked, seeming almost to disbelieve what she was hearing. "I mean, I guess her hair does tend to move around a little bit depending on what she's doing, but most of the time I've seen it, it just sort of hangs there, or lies flat." Or at least, that was usually the case... But it had been different when Fumika had seen Harukaze at the gate earlier, right? She'd seemed a lot more energetic than usual, but then had gone right back to normal when the fight happened... Then did that mean that this boy had figured out something she'd missed? What if... Her surprise only grew when she heard about what had happened at lunch. Her sister - the arrogant girl who never paid anyone else any heed, had sat patiently and pathetically waiting for someone based on a misconception? She supposed that if anyone could be that oblivious, it would be her, but... But why did she care? Why was she so desperate for this boy's company? Why was it so different from how she treated everyone else - from how she treated her own sister? She took a deep breath and shook her head. This changed everything. She'd entered this conversation with the intention of warning this boy away, but... It seemed like maybe, her original interpretations of both his and her sister's behavior towards one another might have been mistaken. "So you already know about Harukaze-san, then. Right..." She cleared her throat. This was a pretty awkward thing to have to explain to somebody else, considering it wasn't any of her business, but... "I don't know much about what happened out there, to be honest. Looks like Harukaze-san and that blonde boy she was fighting with know each other somehow - or used to. I guess she lied about her accident to him and he got mad about it, or something like that. Seemed like Sis knew him too, though - otherwise, I can't see why she'd ever get involved in a nasty argument like that." She shook her head. "But that's neither here nor there. You'll have to forgive me for what I said earlier, but what you just told me has changed my mind. I don't know why you're special, but sis might not actually be ignoring you like I thought. I wish I could offer more than just that, but... Well, I've never really been able to get what goes on inside her head." She took a step back and cocked her head slightly to one side with a sudden, sly grin. It wasn't really her business to meddle in stuff like this, but it wasn't like Fumika'd take any steps herself, so somebody had to do it for her. "Well, whatever. If that's how it is, I guess it's fine. Who knows? Someone like you might be exactly the wake-up call that dense girl needs. In any case, I guess I don't mind you hanging around her, provided you're willing to put up with her... attitude." With this, Asuka turned to follow the others, although she glanced back to see if Yoshida was actually going to follow. Of course, there was absolutely no way that idiot could actually live up to whatever this kid expected of her, and there was even less chance that he'd be able to keep her interest for long. She'd probably just get all proud and puffed up, taking it for granted that he'd fawn on her, then end up getting her hopes shattered when he inevitably got fed up and left. It would be a rude awakening to the real world, one that would finally take her stupid pride down a peg. Maybe then she'd finally stop being so insufferable. And really, it would be for her own good if she did! And, on the off-chance that it did work out between them, she'd still have to come down off her high horse and actually interact with other people. Either way, this was what was best for her stupid sister, even if she didn't realize it for herself. So, telling herself this, Asuka proceeded in her little scheme. Evidently, these were some of the people who'd been present for her rather unseemly squabble outside. Haruka sighed. The girl seemed more focused on Haruka herself, and as such, probably wanted some kind of explanation for what had happened - an insatiable curiosity without regards for how Haruka herself felt. Honestly, she wanted to just send her packing, but given that she was here visiting Fumika, she had to be on her best behavior from now on. She didn't want any rumors going around about her best friend just because she herself had been insufferable. "Harukaze Haruka," She muttered out an introduction, giving an awkward attempt at a handshake while leaning heavily on her crutch. "I'm not a student here, obviously, so you don't need to bother yourself with remembering it," She said icily, a wry, mirthless smirk forming on her lips for a single instant before shattering. She sighed and looked away. It was best to just get to the point already. "There something you needed, or what?" She asked, sounding nothing quite so much as she simply sounded... tired. Turning around, she tilted her head a little bit to the side in bemusement. Why was somebody talking to her all of a sudden? It wasn't Jett, or Yoshida, or anyone else she knew - which made her feel kind of sad. But then she remembered that since she didn't know this person, it was quite strange that he'd just suddenly begin talking to her, and realized that she should have felt confused instead. He introduced himself, and explained his situation. So he was from a different class, but now he was in their class. She remembered the mean Yoshida saying something like that to the shiny boy who'd fought the shiny girl over Point A after the nice Yoshida had beaten her. It seemed like classes weren't quite set in stone yet, so it probably wasn't weird that new people were joining all the time, even though it seemed kind of weird to her anyway, since the only person who'd ever transferred into her class back home was Haruka, and that had been a special occasion. But although they both had black hair, he didn't really resemble Haruka at all, because she was small and fast and he was really, really tall. Why were so many of the students here so tall? There was the huge man who wasn't a tree who'd talked to her in class, and Jett was pretty tall too, and the big girl who'd come through the window, and now there was this person, too. Then again, not everyone was tall, she supposed. Yoshida was short and cute, and his hair was fluffy. Oh. Right. There was someone talking to her, but she'd just been staring blankly at his face for a while now. People usually got mad when she did that. Let's see... he'd introduced himself, and asked a question, in that order. So, she needed to tell him her name and then answer. "Motome Fumika is in 1-A." No, wait, that didn't come out right. "That is, Motome Fumika is me. And I'm in class 1-A." Now, there was something else... Right, right. "Nice to meet you," She recited, giving a surprisingly deep bow, but overestimating the distance between herself and the person she was speaking to, such that the fluffed up tuft of hair sticking up from her head bapped him across the nose both as she lowered her head and as she raised it. If she noticed, she didn't indicate it, as her focus was on something else - the wooden sword he was holding at his side. "Are you a ninja? Or a samurai? Or a samurai-ninja?" She asked, gazing up at him quite suddenly with almost childlike awe.
