Name: Kelci Barlow Age: 22 Starting Location: Stellanova City Rank: Beginner Trainer Points: 0 Organization: n/a Occupation: Unemployed - tries out for musicals but has never been cast in a major production Appearance: 5'6'', slim physique. Caucasian--relatively pale but is capable of tanning when she puts her mind to it (and often does). Copper-colored hair that cascades in flawless waves reaching just past her shoulders. She takes great pride in her hair; don't mess with it. Hazel eyes. Her facial features are pretty but delicate looking. Makeup and fashion must always be on point before appearing in public. Biography: For as long as she can remember, Kelci has dreamed of being a star performer like her mother. She spent all her free time--sometimes at the expense of homework and friends--working on her singing, dancing, and acting. Fiercely focused on her images of the future, Kelci became a queen bee as a teenager. She got used to acting like a celebrity even though her school never cast her in a role bigger than a background dancer. If her parents allowed it, she would've quit school altogether and started auditioning for musicals as young as eleven. But her parents "stomped on her dream" (or so she said) and insisted she have a backup plan, whether that's earning coins at a regular job or TP as a trainer. Kelci had little interest in participating in "barbaric" Pokemon battles like her father; thus, she continued school and graduated. Kelci was ecstatic to finally be able to audition for full-time roles! She eagerly went to as many auditions as possible. But... nobody cast her. Kelci couldn't understand WHY nobody wanted to cast a second-generation triple threat like her. In truth... Kelci was only a double threat. Her excellent acting and dancing combined natural talent and years of hard work. But she couldn't sing to save her life. She couldn't keep time; she always neglected the fundamentals like breath control and tried to jump straight to extravagant songs; and her reedy voice would need a lot of training to sound remotely pleasant. Trusted people in Kelci's life tried to tell her she needed a lot of work on singing, but for the most part, she ignored their advice. Kelci shifted between fierce determination and crushing despair for the next four years as she continued trying to become a superstar. She held down a few odd jobs for a while, but inevitably she would quit, claiming she had better things to do with her time than hand out Pokemon supplies to snotty children who shouldn't even be watching violent TV, let alone contributing to it. Her parents were patient and let their struggling child live with them during this time. But at some point, enough is enough. Kelci's parents threatened to cut off their funding unless she committed to some long-term way to contribute to society. Her father suggested that maybe she could draw on her performing experience to raise Pokemon for Contests, or maybe even revive the tradition of Pokemon Musicals. Kelci is not very excited about becoming a Pokemon Trainer, but at least it's better than another waitressing job. Thus, her adventure begins... Personality: From a young age, Kelci has believed that being a celebrity means acting confident, bold, and competitive. This has led to quite a superiority complex. She talks a lot and never hesitates to share her opinion, though she is less quick to listen to others' opinions. Kelci is willing to cooperate with other people and even let them do things their way sometimes, but she will always try to take the most credit, whether overtly or just by thinking to herself that she contributed the best work. She is always striving to learn more about performing, though she can get jealous of successful performers. Kelci is usually polite to people when she's talking to them--but if you upset her, she might spread catty rumors behind your back. She is a gracious winner but a sore loser. One of her positive qualities is pacifism. While she's not above emotionally hurting people, she can't stand physical violence. Whatever motherly instincts she possesses will kick in and cause her to help someone in physical pain. On the inside, Kelci is always anxious that people are judging her every move, that she'll fail to live up to her mother's name, and overall that she'll never be good enough. She has learned to cope with these worries by acting even more superior and looking down on others so she doesn't have to look into herself. Pokemon Party: Backup Pokemon: Inventory:
