A desperate screech emitted from one person as their body became engulfed in raw mist, distorting the air around them. They charged forward at a single entity — a shadow that personified death itself. Unlike the lawful death that the Death Seraph represented, that which had been the focus of this individual’s anger threatened all life, not just the lives of all mortal races that walked on Ivalice’s soils and breathed in her air. It was the greatest threat to not only humekind but the Gods that have created all living beings and all living, organic matter. Mist collided with shadows and a collision of epic proportions had been created; light and dark; fire and water; life and death; good and evil — all that which opposed each other and were the up to the other’s down became present in this one, singular colliding of forces. Their movements were blinding fast — too fast for any who witnessed it to keep up with their movements. They went from one corner of the cave to the other in a single second. When one had been pushed to assume defensive countermeasures, the other counteracted that to turn the tables. Spell after spell had been launched and each was met with the perfect counter. It was almost as if they could reach each other’s thoughts. It was almost as if one knew what the other was going to do. A game of chess, this was. Only the one who could predict the next move before the other had a chance to adjust would get the leg up on their opponent. Even still, this was a lot of give and take. The more they gave into their attacks, causing fissures that had the potential to drive a wedge in the largest of cities and evolve into massive earthquakes(as well as aftershocks that were just as disastrous), the more they realized they had equal footing, yet neither was going to give up because both had as much to gain by emerging victorious. Both had equal motivation to see the other became nothing more but a distant memory. But for one, it was much more than just eliminating that which threatened all life. It was about saving the one who meant more than anything to him. “I wish you all the luck in the world in that endeavor, Jackson.” The Creature spoke, but its voice was no longer distorted. It had volume and form. Not only that, but its form was no longer of complete shadow. It was a solidified form much like the form Venat had taken before. It was clad in black armor with the sigil of the devil himself throughout it. “You will pay for what you have done!” And as Jaakuna’s eyes drifted over to the ground, he saw a lifeless body that was drowning in a pool of blood. The color of their hair unrecognizable as it had been tainted by the very blood their body harbored inside it. Whatever remnants of its shade had remained was now gone. Only maroon remained. “I’m sorry.” He said to the body, wiping away a single tear as he charged forth towards the Creature for yet another attempt to kill it. Sorrow woke Jaakuna up, his emerald eyes slowly opening to the sight of something he had already deemed it being too early to endure. Not even in an upright position and already Emiri and Shion were at each other’s throats. Of course, it had been Emiri’s defensive stance about how Jaakuna was forced into a position they both knew he didn’t want to be in and Shion retorting back in saying how he didn’t have a choice. “Can’t you do this elsewhere? I was in the middle of a very...enthralling dream.” Jaakuna groaned, forcing himself to stand up. It was obvious he was up. His eyes were open somewhat. Eyelashes were hindering the full view of his emerald gaze and his frequent yawning signaled that this Archadian had yet to enter the state in which people were officially awake. But, as he stood, Jaakuna heard all what they were saying, but that didn’t stop him from walking sluggishly between them, both of his arms brushing past the two busty babes of his life. His left arm pressed against Emiri’s forcing her to make a quarter, clockwise turn, and his right arm had made Shion make the same turn but half of a quarter. And before either of them could say anything about it, like a walking corpse, Jaakuna had left the room, leaving both gals to their devices.
