Asuka parroted back, and one could practically hear the air quotes. "It's not that. She just ignores anyone she doesn't feel like dealing with, cause they're 'not worth her time,' or something like that. Honestly, it's childish and stupid." The younger Motome scratched her head with a frown. Huh? Kenichi was the one to blink this time, although he reflexively stepped out of the way as Yashiro excused himself to squeeze past the two. That didn't seem like Fumika at all--she hadn't ignored anyone who interacted with her, as far as Kenichi remembered. The only time she stood aloof from everyone else, or stayed quiet without interjecting any opinions of her own, was what made Kenichi think she was timid; she held back from saying or doing a lot unless someone went to her directly. And like that time in the nurse's office, when she had started pulling her hair from stress, she probably couldn't handle a lot of things--like talking--going on at once. Kenichi wasn't sure if that was due to the nature of her Quirk--maybe being able to memorize everything going on around you meant that having too much at once put stress on the brain--or just some form of social anxiety. But either way, Fumika hadn't ever struck him as the kind of person who would deem someone else "unworthy." More like the exact opposite...she was so unsure of herself even though she had such an awesome Quirk. But Asuka was her sister, so shouldn't she know these things better than Kenichi did? After all he wasn't the brightest bulb in the building...still, they said men could understand each other through their fists, and he had definitely fought a hard battle with Fumika. Although she wasn't a man, so maybe that rendered the whole thing moot... If her hair lies flat around her sister all the time...maybe I'm the one misreading the signals? Still, though...I mean, her hair is tied to her Quirk, and she mimics people for a similar reason, so isn't the antennae sort of an indicator of what emotion she's mimicking or feeling for herself? "So you already know about Harukaze-san, then. Right..." She cleared her throat. Kenichi started to raise a hand and tell her that she didn't have to go into great detail, since he didn't want to pry into something that was clearly so personal, but Asuka didn't seem to have any reservations about going right into it. Kenichi did note, though, that she seemed to keep it to the facts without anything that an outsider probably wouldn't need to know. Like the bluehair had already assumed, Haruka and Jett had some history and weren't arguing out of any malicious intent. Considering some of the stuff Kenichi had watched his father go through after the man's own accident, he could certainly understand some of what might be going on. Then Asuka shook her head. "But that's neither here nor there. You'll have to forgive me for what I said earlier, but what you just told me has changed my mind. I don't know why you're special, but sis might not actually be ignoring you like I thought. I wish I could offer more than just that, but... Well, I've never really been able to get what goes on inside her head." She took a step back and cocked her head slightly to one side with a sudden, sly grin. Kenichi suddenly gulped, feeling nervous for some reason he couldn't explain. Fumika's little sister might be cute, but she apparently had no problem expressing herself like her big sister. "Well, whatever. If that's how it is, I guess it's fine. Who knows? Someone like you might be exactly the wake-up call that dense girl needs. In any case, I guess I don't mind you hanging around her, provided you're willing to put up with her... attitude." At this, Kenichi couldn't help but grin. As Asuka turned to enter the dining room, Kenichi followed her and soon locked eyes on the table where Fumika sat with Ayato, and the blind girl whose name he was pretty sure was Yukari, or Yozakura-chan if he was being polite (although given what he'd talked about with Asuka, maybe he needed to be more polite?) Another girl, who Kenichi had seen with Roy, Ezra, Mina, and Jett at lunch but whose name he had never learned, was standing near them and asking Ayato about the different colored sprites. Yashiro had also started talking to Fumika, and Kenichi was inwardly pleased to see her ahoge jump in surprise--not because her being startled was funny to him or anything, but because it confirmed what he thought about the antennae being indicative of shifts in her emotions. [@Feyblue]"No worries, Asuka-chan!" he said to the younger girl as he folded his arms behind his head. "I'm one'a those loudmouth-types of main characters who rushes into stuff even if it's none of their business! Even if she ignores me or gets mad at me, I'll still come runnin' anytime she needs help!" He thumped a fist against his chest, still grinning, and then he toned it down a bit as they approached the table so as not to be too overbearing when he and Asuka entered range of the conversations. [@rechonq][@Ryonara][@Heartfillia][@Aerandir][@Feyblue]"Yo, Ayato-kun! How's the spread?" he asked as he approached the seat his roommate had been saving for him. He nodded to everyone else around the table. "Fair warning, even if it weren't my Quirk I'm the type who inhales food." He chuckled at his own joke, but secretly he hoped none of the girls would be put off by his eating habits. Fumika had already seen him at lunch, after all, and hadn't run out of the room screaming. Out of everyone's reactions, he watched hers the most intensely, especially as Asuka took her own seat.
