It's as if he didn't have a filter between his brain and his mouth, he speaks his mind whenever he wants to. He doesn't understand tact either, but he understands that he doesn't understand the subtleties of a social conversation and he compensates by never bothering to hide anything. He can always learn about that kind of stuff later, but at least for the present not caring has been doing wonders for him. He is a very carefree person and can be very dense at times. The thoroughly combat-dominated culture of Mygis has allowed them to spread across the globe and become one of the richest families alive. George is the latest in the Jordas line, and as such was groomed from a young age to someday take over the main company, until that is a certain person by the name of Díno Bando appeared. A certain person George's father owed a favor to had passed away, leaving Díno orphaned. Díno was taken in by the Jordas family sparking the beginning of a grand, tragic destiny. The fates of the two boys would be forever at war, never ceasing until the universe itself would be consumed in their conflict. But even that would not be enough to stop them as they are reborn again, and again, eternal nemeses, until finally the universe had twisted itself so many times the two boys would cease to be, and the cycle would end... But not really. Díno was alright. Yeah, he hated George with a passion, which George couldn't understand yet, but it wasn't like the family dog died under mysterious circumstances or anything. Díno took better to his lessons than George did, and he was also more athletic in the outset. He was also far better at socializing and being subtle about things. The only thing it seemed like George had was that their dog liked him more. George didn't really have the motivation to learn everything he got told to learn in the first place. He had just been born into it, after all, so he soon fell behind in studies and slacked off during training. Though the Jordas family were ostensibly arms dealers, their ancestors like many others had first distinguished themselves through combat before commerce. The only remaining question that nagged at him was why Díno hated him so much. One would think that he would find out through something like stalking his routine, or finding Díno's diary or something like that, but George just asked him in person. It was reasonable enough that he didn't get the answer he wanted. Díno called him an idiot and a waste of space, effort, and time, before leaving; and George would be lying if he said it didn't sting. He already knew that he lost to Díno in every way, but having the man himself actually say it was something else. So how would he deal with it? For a long time, he sort of didn't. He tried to get back to his original productivity in terms of lessons and training. It seemed to be a bit too late to try and catch up to Díno, but he didn't know what else to do. Eventually however, he came to a decision. He decided to stop. He wasn't going to match Díno. It wasn't for sure, he could probably find a way to beat him some day, but the key difference between George and Díno was that Díno had drive. Ambition. George didn't even know what he really wanted out of life, so he decided to just do whatever. It wasn't like he could disappoint his family more at this point. There wasn't all that much he could do though, so he spent some time learning about the one thing that interested him out of all the things he'd learnt, which was something about their earliest ancestors. His and Díno's 14th birthdays were coming up. Díno as always seemed to have his class thought out, but George as always hadn't. The ancestor he was curious about specifically was the one which had begun their journey into what they were today. Struggling through a poor upbringing, he had raised a small fortune which had grown over the generations. They'd said he was a Warrior, but as far as George knew his family had never confirmed or denied it. He was never curious before because he had once seen Díno ask the same question and later came out with an expression that said the question had been answered. Díno hadn't looked particularly shocked or chagrined, so George thought it wouldn't be a big deal. He discovered, however, that their ancestor's class had been Blacksmith. Not his occupation, his class had been Blacksmith. Not just that, but he had a bizarre collection of skills to go along with it. [color=F08080][b]<>[/b][/color]? [color=F08080][b]<>[/b][/color]? Fire would be good for forging, but then what? Seeing it made even George shake his head. Even he knew that whatever worked for his ancestor wouldn't necessarily work for him, and such a weird skill-set too... But it had an allure. He really wanted to try such a strange class... But firt thing first though, if he wanted Blacksmith as a class, he'd have to be smithing at some point. One night, in a rare moment for George he had a butler discreetly smuggle a steel bar for him. For what reason he had no idea. His family had an industrial forge nearby. If he really wanted to try his hand at smithing he could've just asked to visit and they would have probably given him some when he asked. But he got the butler to bring him a single steel bar for some reason, and he sat down on his bed in his very spacious room with a random ass steel bar on his lap. With a sigh he brought up his inventory and went to place the bar inside it, and then suddenly he was pulled inside the [color=00BFFF][b]Enlil[/b][/color] interface. He landed hard on his stomach and he was winded for a second. When he came to, he found himself inside an old style forge. Everything was iron and stone; there was a large forge, an anvil, a grindstone, even some tools. Everything an olden day blacksmith could ever need, save for materials. His steel bar was still in his hand. He had been trying to place it in his inventory before the shift in scenery. Perhaps if he opened it again he'd have his answer. To his surprise, when he opened the [color=00BFFF][b]Enlil[/b][/color] interface, it had opened instead to the page which contained his Tablet Skill. Throughout his childhood, his tablet skill had always been grayed out, and the name distorted. This wasn't an uncommon occurrence, actually. Some people's tablet skills didn't activate until a certain period of time passed. There had never been a recorded instance of someone's tablet skill never activating, so George hadn't ever worried. It seemed that the steel bar had awakened it. Its name was [color=firebrick][b]<>[/b][/color]. His own personal forge, inside the [color=00BFFF][b]Enlil[/b][/color] network itself. But still, he kept the fact in his mind that he could have smithing as a hobby. Smithing didn't exactly need a specialized skill just to do it, after all. But as he approached the forge, something stirred deep inside him. The heat of the forge, the feel of the hammer in his hand, the sensation of bringing it down onto steel just felt right. One thing he had over Díno was raw STR. Despite Díno's higher pretty much everything else, George could feel the strength paying off. One he was done, he couldn't even call it a piece really. He just made the steel ingot into a tiny block, but creating it had felt better than all the hours of study and all the hours of training. His pent up emotions had been released with each fall of the hammer, but he needed more. He decided right then and there, the name of his new class. Blacksmith was perfectly fine for the forerunner, but there was a certain pressure to be unique, which wasn't exactly a bad thing. Díno would no doubt have calculated as many variables as he could to construct the perfect class, something utterly unique that only he could come up with, but George didn't really think that far. He just wanted a good name. He decided to name his class [color=orangered][b]<>[/b][/color]. With a few modern tweaks to his ancestor's Blacksmith class, he would have his very own unique class. George would later explain the circumstances to his father, and his father made sure to keep a supply of various ores and minerals as George developed his general forging skills. George made mostly rods as well as small bits and pieces to practice with. Being only almost 14, he didn't have enough stats to make a full blade or anything. What he could do though was slowly pile on a bunch of metal together over a few days into a really rough hammer. It really wasn't a good one, it was lumpy and the balance throughout the head part wasn't very good. He couldn't help but become excited while he was making it and he just piled on metal, hammering it down until he couldn't anymore. It was really just a big lump of rectangular metal on a stick but he was still proud of it. With his 14th birthday looming closer, he finally finished it by adding some leather to the handle to make it grip-able. Realistically speaking, it would be better to use the blacksmith hammer instead of this one, but he was proud of it still, even if it was kind of silly. But still, it was rather plain. What could he really do, in the end, to add anything to a hammer of all things? He practiced a few swings with it, and its flaws as a weapon became apparent. It was far too top-heavy, it felt like it was going to fly away every time he swung. Maybe it would be better suited as a throwing weapon, but it would be easy enough to dodge. He needed some kind of magic forging technique maybe to make it home in on his enemies... Or maybe he could make them explosive so it didn't matter if he missed. Then suddenly he had a bolt of inspiration. There was a very easy way to make an exploding hammer that didn't need magic! One request later, and on midnight on the day before his 14th birthday, it was finished. George's first exploding hammer. Well, calling it that was a little bit strong, because it was just the hammer he made with a hand grenade duct-taped onto it. However, it did count as a complete weapon for his new [b]<>[/b] skill. He finished choosing his class inside the [color=firebrick][b]<>[/b][/color] and came out to see Díno waiting for him in the darkened hallway. "You've chosen your class, haven't you, Jojo?" Díno said menacingly. One thing he'd noticed is that Díno never called him by his actual name. "Uhhh, yeah?" George replied. Very clearly not catching onto what was occurring right now. "When you reach 14 years old, the Enlil network gives you access to one other function other than the class system... " Díno continued, slowly walking towards him. The dimmed lights flickered as he walked. "The nemesis system, as I'm sure you know. You can designate a person who you're fated to disagree with, to fight with..." "Yeah..." George said, still not getting it. "Soooo...?" "I've been waiting for this day, Jojo..." He opened his interface and sorted through the commands. A few moments later, a notification appeared on George's interface. Díno had registered him as his nemesis. Then he began his attack. "What are you waiting for Jojo?! Come on!" He said as daggers of ice appeared in the air. George ducked for cover as he opened his inventory. He pulled out his exploding hammer and took out the pin. Díno had already prepared another set of ice daggers as George stood up to throw the hammer. The hammer sailed through the air thanks to his [b]<>[/b] skill, smashing through one of the ice daggers coming his way. Díno conjured a wall of ice, catching the hammer before it hit him. "Is that all you've got, Jojo?!" He taunted. "Díno, that's a grenade!" George shouted, rolling back behind cover. And then it exploded. [hr] That signalled the end of the small saga that was their early life. Díno survived with no visible scars thanks to his meticulous planning. The grenade had been inside the ice wall limiting its power somewhat, and one of his passives acted as a second skin of ice, protecting him from most of the shrapnel. Of course, the explosion had also woken up the entire household. Surprisingly he kept a high level of tact about this incident, and only this incident. He kept silent when his father asked for an explanation, for the first and only time, he lied very well. George said that they had gotten over-enthusiastic with their new classes and that one thing had led to another, and this was what resulted. His father understood that something had occurred between the two that George didn't want him to interfere with. George was only saying for Díno's sake, however. He still didn't know to what extent Díno had grievances with him, but he wanted to let Díno keep some measure of his pride after this incident. George visited Díno afterwards and sent him an ally request, which to this day Díno has not confirmed or rejected. Nowadays, the two boys spend their time as far away from each other as possible. Díno began using his previous last name more often while George came into his own as a person, as well as making his own friends at the same time. Occasionally George will drop by to see how Díno is doing, and Díno would become visibly angrier just by him being there. To someone not familiar with the two, they wouldn't appear to be brothers at all, and perhaps Díno didn't see it that way either. But for George, Díno was the best brother he could have ever had. As they forge, they become one with the crackling of the fire, every fall of the hammer ringing out with the beat of their soul. As the user's level grows the Forge Master becomes more proficient with smithing techniques, and gains the ability to harness the soul of a weapon to bring out its true potential. [b]Class Skills:[/b] [i]Combat Data Sub-System:[/i] [list] [*][b][color=F08080]<>[/color][/b] - Active When activating the [b][color=F08080]<>[/color][/b] skill, the user will throw an object held in their hand. The [b][color=F08080]<>[/color][/b] skill provides the advantage of knowing the potential trajectory of the thrown object (affected by Perception and Intelligence), and being able to consistently throw the item with the same trajectory every time. The user requires enough strength to throw the item, of course. Non-unique ability. [*][b][color=F08080]<>[/color][/b] - Active Using [b][color=F08080]<>[/color][/b] allows the user to forge an item already registered with the [b][color=F08080]<>[/color][/b] skill without too much conscious effort. The body will move automatically to create the item. Besides that, it can also be used to perform certain forging actions, such as smelting steel, which would be the same as with any other craft. The automatic crafting portion becomes easier the more an item is [b][color=F08080]<>[/color][/b]. Non-unique ability. [*][b][color=red]<>[/color][/b] - Active Unleash the true potential of a weapon, by focusing and drawing on the 'soul' of a weapon. Effects are reliant on the nature of the 'soul' of the weapon. The 'soul' is best explained as what the weapon is to the wielder. Using George's exploding hammers as an example; using [b][color=red]<>[/color][/b] on them allows the hammers to explode on impact, which is what he as the sole creator of them had wanted them to be. Their mass-produced nature and shoddy construction means that their power isn't increased by [b][color=red]<>[/color][/b] as it normally would for other weapons, but due to his familiarity with them and their lack of power, it makes drawing out the soul much easier. Unique-ish ability in terms of iteration, but similar forms may exist in other classes. [/list] [center][b]Passive Skills:[/b][/center] [list] [*][b][color=F08080]<>[/color][/b] Allows the user to save 'recipes' for crafted items to be used in skills such as [b][color=F08080]<>[/color][/b]. It also adds a tab to the inventory interface which can show known recipes, recipes that can be crafted with items in the inventory and [color=firebrick][b]<>[/b][/color], etc. Non-unique ability. [*][b][color=F08080]<>[/color][/b] Improves proficiency with smithing in general. Higher levels allow for crafting more complex designs and weapons. Non-unique, but barely anybody uses it, probably. [*][b][color=firebrick]<>[/color][/b] The first unique skill of the [color=orangered][b]<>[/b][/color] which allows the items forged by the user to be [b][color=red]<>[/color][/b]. [b][color=red]<>[/color][/b] is not a unique skill and can be learnt or taught to other classes. Not every item succeeds, however higher quality materials can increase the success rate and it doesn't generally fail. Unique ability. [*][b][color=F08080]<>[/color][/b] George's body is tempered by the fires of the Forge and gives him a high resistance to burns, as well as providing a moderate increase in his Vitality stat. He will still feel the heat but he can even be completely engulfed in fire for a brief moment and still be fine. Non-unique ability. [/list] [b]Tablet Skill:[/b] [color=firebrick][b]<>[/b][/color] A button on the inventory screen gives George access to the [color=firebrick][b]<>[/b][/color], a relatively large room containing all the equipment a traditional blacksmith might need for smithing. Besides acting as a portable forge, [color=firebrick][b]<>[/b][/color] also expands his inventory in three ways. Firstly there are two crates inside which both have a similar inventory size to George himself. Secondly, there are several racks made for holding weapons. George has various weapons of his own creation on these racks, and one whole rack dedicated to exploding hammers and exploding hammer upgrade prototypes. The crates cannot hold completed weapons. The last way could be counted as an exploit. Materials in the forge which are in the process of smithing remain as they are if he leaves the [color=firebrick][b]<>[/b][/color]. This means unfinished weapons on the anvils, metals smelting in the smelter etc. Time passes in the [color=firebrick][b]<>[/b][/color] at the same rate as the real world. One thing to note is that the fire of the [color=firebrick][b]<>[/b][/color] doesn't burn indefinitely, and requires fuel. There was already some coal when George first entered the [color=firebrick][b]<>[/b][/color]. It takes time for George to enter and exit [color=firebrick][b]<>[/b][/color], as George needs to get pulled in to enter and he must exit in a similar fashion. [/hider]
