You can keep attacking him if you like, but "pummeling" isn't the word I'd use to describe what's been going on. He outclasses everyone in a one on one fight and has done far more damage to Feya than vice versa (with you choosing to minimize her injuries unless I specifically state how bad they are, something I'd been meaning to bring up), with the fight going much more his way since Lilliana split off to do something else. That, plus denying his help is not very intelligent. He means what he said. Saban will kill [i]everyone[/i] unless dealt with. It's very possible for the crew to win if you keep fighting both of them, but it'll be the difference in getting out without much more injury, or everyone getting out utterly exhausted and in near critical condition.
