So guess who didn't watch the first three episodes again? (Blame Supernatural! I spent all weekend catching up on that and completely spaced.) That said, I do remember the opening episodes pretty well, especially with the summaries. So no needs for spoilers warnings here! And it's just great how high quality the show is, from the animation to the writing to the voice acting. A lot of shows would low-ball it because of the target audience, but ATLA is not like that at all. I see your point about how Sokka is like Xander, and he's one of my favorites too, though not my favorite character. And the thing about Sokka is that he's not helpless or powerless; he's got his own skill set. And damn that sucks about the box-set issues. :( I can watch it on amazon prime so it's not an issue for me. Also for my post - not sure it's gonna get done tonight. Sorry. The boyfriend and I went out for dinner (yay sushi!) but the service was REALLY slow. They gave us free edamame though (yay edamame!). And I still got shit to do tonight gah.
From our dear Pachman: "but I know we did have a couple of customers in here last night called Amy and Lucy. One was a very pretty blonde woman with some friends who was knocking back more drinks then I had ever seen before and was throwing gald all over the stage, begging the dancers to ‘take it all off’ and ‘shake it about.’ " I don't think that was Amy, dudes, cause that sounds more like Dylan. Just ask Lucy! Dylan's the prettiest blonde of them all!
