[@Arkitekt] If they’re whores they would probably be forced out of business due to the rot spreading through bodily fluids, haha. Original countries of origin would be cool with me. I’m not so sure about the undercover hunters thing... this is a story of ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances, and I’d prefer to keep the characters rather lowkey. The most combat experience any one character would have would either be military service or an upbringing in the slums. If your character was from the upper class of society though, if they pushed for it they could have had a few fencing lessons here and there. Female characters in this setting (who aren’t prostitutes) would probably have been initially attached to a family that has attempted to flee from Europe, whether as a wife, a daughter, or a servant. Said family may or may not be dead upon arrival at St. Alexander, though if they aren’t dead bear in mind your character will have to balance caring for them with interacting with the other characters in the RP. Even if you are single and have no surviving family, you would probably go with friends. A female character that has made the journey independently on purpose, however, will require a more solid CS. You could also play a native of Saint Alexander as well, though you would have to provide an explanation as to why you haven’t evacuated to the mainland yet. But in the end, your characters being strong independent women would most certainly work in this setting, seeing as ‘proper’ ladies of the time that were overdependent on their families would have probably not survived the pandemic. Your writing sample is also excellent, by the way - glad to have you aboard!
