[indent]That’s what Peter said after Mary Jane told him she was pregnant. Fear and joy and worry and love all flooded him in one conflicted instant, and all of a sudden he realised that he’s going to have to start preparing for the greatest responsibility of all: fatherhood. The Peter I want to write is an experienced one who’s played the superhero game for over ten years. He’s had his highs and his lows (that Parker luck is a [i]bitch[/i]), but he’s more or less found his footing as a street-level, occasional “big league” hero – he has a fiancé in MJ, and his job as the Daily Bugle’s webmaster pays decently... but he’s going to be a dad soon. That footing he found as Spider-Man is getting shaken off-balance by newfound fear, and his relative financial stability seems anything but with a third Watson-Parker on the way. Throughout everything that Peter’s going to have to go through in this game, his biggest obstacle – the gigantic, monolithic hurdle he’s going to have to swing over – is the fear that something’s going to happen to him as Spider-Man that’ll prevent him from being there for his family.

Besides the little hints dropped in the notes section, I’m not going to go into Peter’s history here – it should generally be assumed that Uncle Ben died when he was fifteen, Gwen was killed by Green Goblin and that Spidey punched pretty much all of his canon villains in the face at least once before present day. Some added little tidbits would be Peter’s role as a mentor to Miles for the past four years, as well as his time with the first Teen Titans, becoming good buds with Dick Grayson, Wally West and Roy Harper (which is obviously up to discussion with whoever ends up playing those dudes). Any deeper history will hopefully be explored in the IC.

[b]May Parker |[/b]  The woman that raised Peter. She found out that he’s Spider-Man not long after Gwen Stacy’s death, and has since made peace with it.

[b]Miles Morales // Spider-Man (II) |[/b]  Peter’s partner and protege, Miles has been the second Spider-Man since he was thirteen years old. At seventeen, he’s a member of the Teen Titans, and is a capable hero in his own right. 
 
[b]Harry Osborn |[/b]  Peter’s best friend since high school, Harry is a rising star within Stark Industries, having distanced himself as far as he could from OsCorp and the stain his father left on it.

[b]Eugene “Flash” Thompson |[/b]  Once a bully, Flash is now one of Peter’s closest friends. He recently made detective in the N.Y.P.D., and is a vocal supporter of the Spider-Men (and has been since he was a teenager – knowing Peter's identity has only bolstered his loyalty to the wall crawler).

[b]Dick Grayson // Nightwing |[/b]  The original Robin, Dick and Peter became friends through the Teen Titans. One of Peter’s best friends within the superhero community. Obviously up for discussion with Dick’s player.

[b]Wally West // The Flash |[/b]  Originally Kid Flash, Wally and Peter met through the Teen Titans. They’ve since become close friends, and like Dick, the Scarlet Speedster is one of Peter’s best friends within the hero community. 

[b]Roy Harper // Arsenal |[/b]  Almost as if in a recurring pattern, Pete and Roy met through the Teen Titans, and have since been among each other’s better friends within the world’s masked community. Obvs up for discussion with the Roy player.

[b]Jonathan “Johnny” Storm // Human Torch |[/b]  One quarter of the Fantastic Four, Johnny is one of Peter’s best friends within the superhero community. Up for discussion. 

[b]Anthony “Tony” Stark // Iron Man |[/b]  He’s Iron Man. Again, up for discussion.

[b]Jefferson Davis and Rio Morales |[/b]  The happily married parents of Miles, Jefferson is a police sergeant in Brooklyn and Rio is a nurse. They’re aware of Miles’ identity as Spider-Man, and (reluctantly) support him. They remain in the dark about Peter’s identity.

[b]Felicia Hardy // Black Cat |[/b]  The Catwoman to Peter’s Batman, Felicia blurs the line between vigilante and criminal, occasionally falling back into old habits and taking a piece of jewellery for herself. A (brief) former flame of Peter’s, she’d sooner die than admit that his goodness has rubbed off on her.

[b]John Jonah Jameson |[/b]  The owner, publisher and editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle News Network. When Spider-Man (Peter) first debuted, Jonah was firmly against him, being anti-superhero – so much so that he had the Bugle slander Spidey at every opportunity that presented itself. His opinion of the web-slinger drastically changed over time, coming to support him after witnessing selfless act after selfless act. Finding out that Peter is Spider-Man must’ve helped with that.

Norman was the very successful CEO of OsCorp before his quest to replicate the formula that gave Peter his powers drove him insane, turning him into the Green Goblin. With a twisted vendetta against Peter, he targeted Spider-Man with personal attacks, killing his girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, during their senior year. He is currently imprisoned in a maximum security S.H.I.E.L.D. prison, where he’s been for the past five years.

[b]Wilson Fisk // The Kingpin |[/b]  New York’s Kingpin of Crime, Fisk has had to deal with vigilantes like Spider-Man and Daredevil for over ten years now. Feared throughout the city, he’s known for his ruthlessness and keen business acumen. [sub][sup]And for being a fat tub of lard.[/sup][/sub]

[b]Eddie Brock // Venom |[/b]  Shortly after Gwen’s death, Peter bonded with a symbiotic alien parasite that had escaped A.R.G.U.S. containment. Driven by his darkest impulses, Peter came to recognise the Symbiote’s negative influence and rejected it. Filled with an alien emotion that humans might describe as hate, the Symbiote found someone who hated both Spider-Man and Peter Parker... Peter’s childhood friend, Eddie Brock. Venom, as they came to call themselves, became the bane of Peter’s existence for many years. Eddie is currently incarcerated in the same S.H.I.E.L.D. prison as Norman Osborn, the Symbiote separated from him over many states in a secret A.R.G.U.S. facility.
