Astrophel DeVault
Height: 4'7" Weight: 85 lb Age: 12 Race/Species: Human Appearance: Astrophel Aesrfel Personality: Astrophel, or Astra, is generally a polite and likable child, but can be surprisingly foul-mouthed due to the language he picked up from his kidnappers. He has uncanny insight when dealing with people, often seeing right through their thoughts and personalities. He has a genuine thirst for knowledge, but can sometimes be overly blunt when asking questions. He maintains a nonchalant attitude, even when insulting others. He has a surprisingly good sense of who he can trust. Statistics: -Strength: 2 - Definitely on the weaker side, even as a child. -Perception: 10 -Endurance: 4 -Charisma: 4 -Intelligence: 6 -Agility: 8 - Often employs the Joestar family's Secret Technique. -Luck: 1 - The main reason for employing said technique. Abilities, Talents, Traits, Powers: Astrophel has abnormal insight, to the point where it's essentially equal to divination. He can almost always tell when something is going to happen around him, and can see through another person's thoughts and personality. He can often draw eerily accurate conclusions about someone based on what he can see, even on details about their pasts. Lies never work on him, though he does play along with some of them. His uncanny awareness also allows him to avoid attacks before they happen. While this would make him a splendid fighter, Astra is too weak to utilize it normally. Instead, he uses it to run away safely, stalling for an opportune moment to use the environment against his enemies if he cannot simply escape. Having become friends with a wish demon, Astrophel finds that some of his problems end up getting solved by new misfortunes. Choking on something? Someone trips and gut-punches him, dislodging it. Snatched up by a thug on horseback? They get stopped by highwaymen. A charging animal heading towards him? Meteorite crashes. Things like that. Item: Ring of Wishes - Really just used as a mobile home for Aesrfel. While the ring would normally grant wishes by 'borrowing' the person's future luck, it acts oddly in Astra's case; since he's already unlucky, his luck immediately becomes worse to counter-intuitively protect him. Stick - He's short, man. History: Plagued with poor luck, starting with getting kidnapped by the midwife, Astrophel's affluent parents had kept him confined to the estate to reduce the number of occurrences. Shut away from the outside world, Astra spent much of his time reading books, either informational or fictional, like novels. He also talked with the servants, learning how to read their thoughts and personalities. While not necessarily lonely and, given the number of kidnapping incidents, was content with just reading adventure novels instead of living one, he still desired to have someone he could call his friend. During a meteor shower, Astra wished upon a shooting star... which promptly changed directions and smashed through the window he was watching from. A boy, looking about the same age as Astra, stepped out from the rock. "I sense that thou hath a cursed existence," he spoke. "In turn for thy soul, I shalt grant thee any fortune thou desire." "Anything?" Astra asked, to which the boy nodded. "In that case... please be my friend!" The boy, whom Astra found out was actually a wish demon named Aesrfel and promptly nicknamed 'Aery', was taken aback by this and initially refused, but gave in after seeing Astra become somewhat depressed. With his luck no longer killing him at every opportunity, Astro left home with Aery to explore the world.
