[@BrokenPromise] That's the conclusion I've come to too, it definitely would make more sense to add characters between cases rather than during cases. I also completely agree that it's not worth it to squeeze a character in at this point. There's not a lot of time for a character to build relationships and really do anything for an entire class trial if they join then. And even then if everything worked out, it'd still be a major hassle for most people involved. I'm only somewhat familiar with the lore of Tower of Carnage. The extent of my knowledge is only whatever's in the OOC Thread and the more recent posts in the IC. I've read about some of the characters but only fleetingly and largely to get a feeling for how I should structure my own character should I make one. Another thing to note is that I'm only familiar with the face value of collabs. Where I hail from, individuals just make their own posts for their own characters. It actually makes a lot of sense for a Roleplay largely so heavily based on characters to transpire this way. I suppose that it's not that hard to understand but if there's gonna be some downtime it may make sense for me to try and learn in said downtime. As far as your other idea, I don't actually know enough about the Roleplay to decide whether that's a good idea or a bad idea. It'd really depend on what that'd entail and/or what the implications would be. Beggars can't be choosers, y'know. I'd be interested but as the GM I think this is something best left to your judgement. I've actually already figured out largely what kind of character I'd make (this isn't the first time I've thought about joining an existing roleplay) but I could always spend more time smoothing them out. I'm also a big fan of throwing adobe products at my applications, so I could make a cool sort of gallery to accompany my application in the meanwhile. There are things that I'd have to clear up with you as the GM specifically before the Roleplay. When making a character, I always like to have a nice and large backstory centered on one event or a series of similar events as I believe that the backstory is by far the most crucial aspect of a good character. However, I recognize that this timeline is relatively delicate so I'd rather keep the backstory free from something that'd imply anything elsewhere besides my own character. It'd probably be best should I apply if I just wrote a few backstories, bounced them off you, and then fleshed whichever one stuck out. Anyways, I know it sort of cheesy but I just gotta thank your for your time. I know it must be a lot of work to manage this roleplay, especially due to the tentative nature of trials and murders so I really must commend the amount of work you must have put into this. I've looked at a ton of Danganronpa roleplays and out of all of them (even the dead ones) this one had the best premise and was the most well kept. Most of the time the roleplays died because of the GM after less than a month, so the fact that you kept this up for a year is really commendable!
