[@Clever Hans] No rush; like it says in the OP, I don't plan to get this thing started until after Thanksgiving, so you've got plenty of time to mull over your options.

[@Inkarnate] I haven't set a limit in stone yet, but I think the rule of thumb will be that everyone starts out with one, and if you demonstrate that you're reliably active with one character, a second will be allowed.
