She is skinny, with muscle sparsely spread across her body. She often changes her face and thighs to look human, as it tends to help divert attention. The differences are small, besides the disappearance of her sapphire colored crystal. The markings disappear from her thighs, and her features smooth out subtly. She often wears a thick coat with intricate and abstract designs covering it. From a distance the lines blur together, making the normal navy blue seem darker than normal, however with closer inspection the seemingly endless complexities become obvious. Lines spread across the jacket, twisting and turning sharply, ending and beginning at what seems to be random intervals. The top has a fur collar, often snugly pressed around her neck. Its bottom reaches her thighs, making its size just barely big enough to draw attention, but not quite at the point where it keeps it. Under the coat Sarah wears a white tank top with no special designs to speak of. She normally sticks to black skirts with leggings or thigh highs making the occasional appearance, their black contrasting her (almost but not quite) alabaster skin. Sarah sticks to black when it comes to her skirt 90% of the time, but occasionally a blue base with yellow accents sneaks its way onto her skirt. She gets cold easily, her cheeks and nose staying colored for most of her time outside when the weather isn’t agreeable. Her hair is a chestnut brown, laying straight down her back, or kept up in a ponytail depending. When in a ponytail, she keeps it there with a cyan bow. A scarf is often seen wrapped around her neck, thick and warm. The design is red with crisscrossing thin white lines far spread from each other. Sarah's eyes are a duller green, gaining brighter edges when she's using a significant amount of vis. Personality Sarah is quite an agreeable person, rarely starting conversation, but happy to keep them going. She takes her time with responses, genuine thoughtfulness shining through above most else. Depending on her first impression she might open up about herself easily, or shut down when the conversation turns to her past. Though it might seem to be a pain at times, Sarah is big on rules and traditions. Respect for the past, social standings, and law seem more important than the reasoning behind them. This can have the opposite effect, however, as once she realizes a law or way of doing something is wrong, she will just as adamantly fight against this wrong. She expects reciprocity when it comes to this righteous indignance, and won’t abandon the conversations with those who differ in belief until they either agree, or never talk to her again. History Born to wealthy politicians, Sarah has had a life devoid of direct risk to her person. She has been schooled in various fields by tutors provided by her parents who were never around enough to homeschool her. With this, and the fact that Sarah is the third of four children, her parents effort to personally rear her was less than what most would consider minimal. Most of her adolescence has been spent in Ominar, with the knowledge that her parents had been working on something within, without knowing what. Luckily for Sarah, she took to reading like a fish to water, enjoying reading anything she could get her hands on. This greatly assisted her tutors, who found that Sarah’s amenable literary interests coincided with their jobs. So, starting from a young age, Sarah found herself well read. One of the fondest memories Sarah has of her parents is rather recent. At eighteen, she was brought by them to the God-Queen in order to have enough vis imparted into her so she could access her manifest. She spent three days in her parent’s company, which is the most she had ever spent. This also coincided with the point where Sarah’s distaste of her parents was cemented. Her tutors told stories about how valuable and interesting the work they did was, and how, “It would be oh so dreadful if they had to abandon their very important work which made so many people happy, just to make her a bit happier.” Her own experience throughout her life showed her parents to be short sighted people, not the king and queen of her favorite fairy tales, but instead the conniving spymaster. Sarah’s parents often treated her opinion as that of someone who was less than human, much less giving her the respect of a fellow prae. Mind you this didn’t stop during her formative years, but continued far into her adolescence; her most recent association with them at eighteen has continued this trend. At thirteen she started attending Zander’s university of magical studies, as well as participating in her own studies, and being tutored by the various people her parents hired. She quickly rose to the higher parts of her class, deepening her own understanding of the world as much as the textbooks she read would allow. She became particularly interested in computers, and as such her interests when it came to magic reflected that. She realized that intelligent use of runes could make even low skill mages formidable opponents, given time and preparation; Sarah has been focusing on this for almost three years now, and the culmination of these efforts is her winter jacket. Though it may seem like just another piece of clothing, it is covered with thousands of runes. Most of these runes exclusively function as logic gates, determining how energy flows through the system, and setting off large chains of low level spells which culminate in larger effects. When it comes to warfare, Sarah is a good example of her race’s obsession. She almost exclusively battles with a halberd, (with) a larger than average blade. She has enchanted this halberd to exist in a pocket dimension until needed. The halberd swings faster than one of similar size, and can stretch out a bit farther if given the right vis stimuli. Her various tutors had to work hard to keep her on track, as reading about battle doesn’t even compare to the real thing, especially when it comes to developing muscle memory. Sarah prefers the magical side of combat to the kind that requires more physicality. Despite her reverence for the status quo, and the past, she finds herself dreadfully interested in Licentia. Their ostracization finds her simultaneously repulsed and dangerously interested. When it comes to humans, Sarah finds she relates better to them than most Prae. As a Prae, humans, Licentia, and Prae all stare. However, after she, on a whim, cast illusion magic to disguise her body for a night, she found humans draw a lot less attention. Disguised as a human; Prae, Humans, and Licentia alike didn’t focus their attention towards her nearly as much. Prae, if anything, looked down on her in human form. However less attention is drawn when looked down upon than when met as an equal. Eventually it became part of her daily routine, constantly disguising herself as a human. At one point her own parents didn’t recognize her in public. The hardest part of this process turned out to be hiding her own vis. The teacher who taught her this was her only human teacher, and also was the main teacher associated with introducing her to runes. She had this teacher for more than half her life, and her research into his vis, and her general interest in wards, helped perfect this complicated spell. Around the age of fifteen Sarah set up a workshop to create runes at a faster rate, as well as create the blueprints for very complex sets of runes. This workshop gathers ambient energy from rune waypoints she sets up in hard to locate areas, and moves them every week or so, storing the energy when she does. Her aptitude comes in preparing, and rarely improvising. She takes to new subjects well, though she tends to struggle with more conceptual disciplines Sarah is a hard headed woman, though in casual conversation she can be quite agreeable. She was trained to defend herself from psychic attacks, though she never took too strong an interest in the matter. Physical Sarah is not particularly strong, her strength almost always comes with what she has already practiced. The muscle memory is there, but she could definitely improve her physical strength quite a bit. Her reflexes are noteworthy, though not unbelievable. Magical/Technological The sect of magic mainly dealing with runes is definitely Sarah’s strong point, as there is no subject she has invested more time into or read more about. Her jacket is designed to ward her literally and figuratively, as well as give her more vectors of attack. She can cast spells considered basic for humans, such as creating lightning bolts or fireballs. It also can detect and defend against very specific types of danger that she has specifically prepared for in advance. Her runes can detect many extreme changes, such as great increases in the amount of vis around her, extreme temperature changes; physical damage to vital areas will be reduced by the jacket if it covers said area. It tries to create an equilibrium, slowing hard hits and heating her up when she gets too cold. There are also various runes spread around the jacket meant purely for storing vis, though their capacity is barely a tenth her own total. This is slowly drained through the act of waiting for stimuli, and she tries to replenish it when convenient. Illusion magic is the runner up, as the act of constantly disguising herself has led to her researching it through her teachers and her highly coveted collection of books. With this, as the attention drawn by illusion magic can be a problem, Wards are also a point of interest. When she considers herself in danger, she will often ward herself to help disguise her true form even more. Sarah’s manifest culminates in a more advanced expression of her normal magical usage. The line between her body and her vis begins to blur as her manifest begins. Next the line between herself and the world begins to blur, as the image of her fractures through illusion magic, appearing as if she were a glitch in a computer program. The ‘textures’ that makes up her body seem to sporadically separate and get erased before reappearing. Her intuition when it comes to vectors of attack increases drastically. Her runes raw power increases significantly, and the act of interfacing with them becomes as seamless an interaction as moving her body. Her stamina is also greatly increased, meaning she can fight better for longer.
