[indent]Standing at five feet five inches and weighing around 110 pounds, Amelia is a thin, lightweight woman of Puerto Rican descent. She has a heart shaped face with high cheekbones as her most prominent feature with dark brown eyes. Her body has few curves, with a small bust and fair hips, though she doesn't seem to be too bothered by it. Her hair is a dark shade of brown, nearly black, though she's been known to dye it once in a while. Makeup isn't her forte, though she does like wear pink lip-gloss. She takes good care of herself, taking care of pimples and blemishes rather quickly. While not having any tattoos, she has several, thin scars on her upper left thigh, another scar on her right knee, and a birthmark on her right hip. She has her ears pierced, as well as her belly button though she would like to keep that one to herself.

Her attire is on the simpler side of things. She isn't a big fan of prints and likes solid colors. She prefers to wear skirts over pants, slapping on tights underneath when it gets colder. Studs are the only kind of earrings she wears, and she doesn't like having anything hanging that could get caught. Rings tend to get in the way when she's trying to type or do something with her hands, though she does own some bracelets and necklaces she'll wear for special occasions. She does, however, go all out with hair accessories, having more headbands, scrunchies, and hair clips than she does clothes. They culminate in her own hanging armoire filled with them.[/indent]

[indent]Despite knowing that they were too young, Elisabeth Arnau and Mariano Vasquez decided to get married. Nine months later, in the city of Guayama, Puerto Rico, their daughter Amelia was born. Six months later, Mariano decided he would rather continue to chase skirts rather than deal with a newborn and his wife, so a divorce followed three months after that. Once Amy turned one, her mother decided that she didn't want her daughter to grow up without a father, and so she got together with an old friend named Paolo Vulmaro who had also been recently divorced. Paolo also had a young son, three years older than Amy, and after much discussion, Elisabeth and Paolo decided it was better to raise the two together. In time, the two did genuinely fall in love, and their family grew closer together, with Amy seeing Paolo as her father and her stepbrother as her actual brother.

When she was seven years old, her father got an offer at a better job, though it was in New York. Elisabeth was a little weary raising her children in the city, so the family ended up living in New Jersey. Paolo's job ended up working out better than expected, with the family gaining some wealth, and so they decided to send Amy to private school. Amy was in the top 20 of her class, and became a cheerleader and soared into popularity. Her dream at the time was to become a singer, even joining the choir and applying for Julliard. She ended up dating the football team's quarterback in her junior year, Nicholas, though he thought she should go for a more realistic career. Not wanting to disappoint him, Amy decided to go into finance for something more secure, and was accepted into Fordham University.

During her college years she found herself buried in her books, struggling to keep her grades up. She moved in with her boyfriend in his apartment in New York, though she got a job as a bank teller to help him out with the bills. Between school, her job, and Nicholas wanting more of her attention, she felt like she was torn between the three and doing none of them well. Still, she wouldn't learn her lesson just yet, getting into a string of arguments and disagreements until she completed her bachelor's degree. Once she got into going for her Master's, their relationship promptly exploded after she got a pregnancy scare. He refused to take responsibility, she wanted to keep it, they couldn't come up with a solution, it was bad. The stress caused her to fail all her classes, and she ended up dropping out to save face, taking a promotion from the bank and using it as an excuse as to why she stopped her studies.

Despite clearly being miserable, Amy and Nicholas decided to sweep things under the rug. Until last week, when an odd voicemail caught Amy's attention. The voice of a woman asking for Nicholas, needing desperately to talk to him. When Amy asked him about it, he denied knowing anything about it, and she would've believed him, except the same voicemail popped up every day since then. Yesterday, she decided to call the number back. 

Today, Amy decided to end their eight year relationship.[/indent]

The pair have always gotten along swimmingly, though Layla has pulled her own weight of the friendship by helping out Amelia in probably one of the biggest pinches she's been in in a long time. Amelia feels indebted, and while she doesn't know how, she will make sure she repays Layla's kindness. She's excited and relieved that she won't have to live alone, and looks forward to deepening their friendship.

The pair's common interest in video games resulted in a one sided rivalry relationship on Amy's part. She loves that he's willing to play with her, but she hates that he essentially trolls her (it doesn't help that he's much more skilled than she is). Still, in serious situations, she likes that she can count on him and admires his profession.
