[@KatherinWinter] Now I did specify a horse drawn cart, it has a lot of supplies on it. But it's also not all of his supplies, which I can get into later. She doesn't have much room back there. 

He only knew/heard about the slave trade by chance. His plans/equipment haven't been dealt with yet and his current supplies have not been gathered to rescue his kids. He went off to deal with the "targets" he was given by the marketplace beastkind. They'll be returning back to the kingdom after. The true journey hasn't started just yet.
