However! I did manage to find some old concept stuff from my dropbox:

The idea was that chunks of the Gal'noth crystals (I dunno if i ever addressed their existence) had fallen after the gods blew up the gal'noth during the attempted planting of it in the core of the planet by the proto-esyire. They each were attuned to a type of magic, and so had an aura of that sort around it, which is why the areas are so heavily themed.

EDIT: Also another bit of trivia, a lot of the names in Yarosmere are just random words scrambled. For example "Gar" is just "Rag", and the nearby city of H'cir is "Rich". I think Gandalph is in there too, along with others I don't remember!
