[@KatherinWinter] Haha. Well it's not really his fault. But he wouldn't be desperate if he had all the clues. Ya know? He wouldn't need a slave, if he knew where they were and how to get them. It makes sense for the plot that he doesn't have all the information. He isn't a genius. He has a solider's mind. And again, those odds have crossed his mind, hence his desperation. He has a trail to follow, but it's not concrete. He was given no information on their direct kidnapping. Him having information would mean he either saw the kidnapping take place...which he's strong and fast, so you'd question how they got the better of that? And if it was strength, then a slave without strength wouldn't help. So he is using people with more knowledge because that's what he lacks. Or that he's just super smart and well cultured. And if that was the case, he'd probably have more friends, he could just ask them to help him find his kids. Or we get into stuff he has no realistic sense of knowing, which makes the plot/character less believable.
