Red doesn't know much about her family, seeing how they abandoned her when she was an infant.  She spent most of her life hopping from foster home to foster home, getting into trouble and running around with the wrong kind of crowd.  By age twenty two however, she decided to have a change in lifestyle and joined the Army.  Something just appealed to her about it, the camaraderie between brothers, the discipline, not to mention getting to shoot things and blow shit up.  She served for six years before being honorably discharged, due to taking a bullet to her left thigh in Afghanistan, and returned home to the states.  She later enrolled into police academy and graduated among the top of her class.

Currently, she is a lieutenant in the force and  on the police's S.W.A.T. team.
