The odor was almost overpowering and she was tempted to plug her nose, but that wasn't going to do her any favors with whoever was around. She needed them to explain just exactly what Mayor Ryder had been trying to do. She didn't have too much of a plan yet, but she figured that once she understood how he died and who caused it, she could offer a non-paranormal explanation to give to the police. It'd be a lie, but at least the right person would be behind bars at the end of the day. Her phone buzzed and Jenna's heart skipped a beat. It should've taken them a little more time to figure out she wasn't actually at the Silver Mine, right? Or maybe the pair of them had gotten lazy and just not looked hard enough. Biting the side of her lip, Jenna tapped out a reply, only furthering the amount of lies she was telling Finn and Dec. But the lies were preferable to the truth, she felt.
To Finn and Dec: I'm inside the mine. Coming out now. -J
Dec and Finn would be smart, right? They'd realize that she hadn't come out of the mine (obviously) and hopefully they'd just assume she was farther in than they expected. If they did decide to go into the mine, she figured that Finn had enough brains to keep the two of them from getting seriously injured. And if everything worked out properly, she might even be able to meet them at the mine after all. "Are you legit?" Jenna asked plainly. "I know you tell all of your customers that you are, but I need to know. A ghost showed me a book of rituals and I need help understanding them."
