The wandering alchemist walked down a frozen path to the nearby town, which according to the directions the old man had gave him was a 'short' walk from his home. He'd been walking for about a hour now, stopping every so often to knock snow from his boots. It's just down that path there, a short walk my home. What a load of bull. What Flynt wanted more than anything was to get this godforsaken satchel off his shoulder. All the travel fatigue was getting to him and the bag felt like dragging a elephant through the desert. He was half tempted to just toss the thing into the snow and come back for it later but about 23 things could violently explode in the thing if handled poorly, actually 24 if you counted the bag itself."Stupid bag. Stupid Tundra. Stupid directions". Flynt mumbled as he continued his stride through the desert, almost speaking some curses in german. With nothing better to do and almost the perfect kind of day for it, he produced his black runebag from his dark brown satchel. He undid the knot that held it closed and dug around in it."Dagaz,Tiwaz,Berkano, ah here it is". Flynt held up the small wooden square to the sun and watched as a deep purple hue glowed on it in a less than sign.Kenaz,torch. The square faded into a warm glow, spreading out and covering Flynt's body."That's more like it". He sighed in appreciation to the warmth the rune brought, if only for a few minutes. The runes themselves had been a gift from the locals of a small village in germany when he had dealt with a small Alp problem they had. The only information they gave him was that they were made of rowan wood, said to be the best material to make runes from. "those were some mighty kind people, maybe I'll visit them again one day". A small smile spread across his face before his boot hit something hard on the ground."Hmm?" he looked down and saw a faded wooden sign. The only tangible word was Population, the rest being faded off the wood. A quick glance up revealed a small town just ahead."Hot damn!". Flynt broke out in a sprint towards the place, more importantly to a the saloon. He arrived to a squat, dilapitated building, the word SALOON written in bright red on one of the outer walls. Not a lot a creativity but it works. Flynt shrugged slightly and walked inside. The smell hit him first, like a skunk had went and died in a outhouse. His gag reflex nearly kicked in but he managed to keep it surpressed. The various patrons turned to him for a moment before continuing rigged poker games and random conversations. Flynt moved through the squalor of the place and sat at the bar, where several cockroaches were waiting to say hello. He shooed them away and motioned for the bartender, who walked over and spoke in a gruff voice."What'll it be kid?. Flynt scoffed and rolled his eyes at the bartender."Kid I am not but I'll have a shot of whiskey-no two shots". He produced the money from his pocket and slid it to across the counter. The bartender accepted the money and poured Flynt two shots a whiskey."No need to be rude about it.. Flynt raised a eyebrow to the bartender and downed one of his shots, relishing the burn as it slid down his throat."I was merely correcting your statement but I apologize if I came off rude,Names Flynt by the way"."Edward, pleasure to meet you kid.. Flynt chuckled a little and rolled his eyes again."Say Edward, you know where a supernatural bounty hunter could find some work?". The bartender cocked his head up to the ceiling, somewhat in deep thought.""Try the sheriffs office, usually got bounties posted there"."Thanks for the info Ed. Have this".Flynt pulled a small vial from his bag, filled with a dark green liquid. He handed the vial to the bartender and spoke before he would askWhat's this?."It's a intelligence booster, could help you calculate prices accurately cause that whisky was dirt cheap."Flynt downed the other shot and leaned back into the barstool. He would check the sheriffs office later, preferably after he had a few good drinks.
