Nov 1, 2017 - the Serpent's Lair - 12:45pm Sloth entered the Den, embracing the familiar warmth of this second home, recognizing a few faces around the room. First was the hulking mass of the hallucinogen junkie detective Solomon Firenz, and he didn't need to see his face to know it was him, he was leaning on the bar talking to Andria, Mabel's help for the last couple years. Sloth didn't have a problem with Solomon, he helped track down folks, kids especially, mostly from the Slums, and for that he had his respect. They didn't cross paths much, but when they did it was always civil, Sloth had even scored him some military grade LSD back in the day. With their fields of work though it was better they didn't interact much, although Sloth was always available for information if he could cough up the change if it wasn't already blown on drugs. Next was Andria Fenter, known as Drake in select circles, Sloth didn't mind her too much either, anyone helping out Ms Mabel was okay in his book. It was nice for Mabel to have a female companion around, keep her a little soft around the edges where'd she'd gone hard. Andria was young but she was a damn good mechanic and possessed another set of skills he admired, he saw her like a younger sister, but would never tell her, so he always made sure he watched out for her. Giving a silent nod to Mabel he started walking towards the bar when out of the corner of his eye he saw the figure of Benril Mangus sitting at a table in the corner of the room with his back towards him. It had been two years since he'd last seen or heard of him and the memory of him giving Mabel a hard time set a fire inside. He turned and walked towards Benril's unsuspecting figure, the air in the bar grew cold and fell silent. When he was within arm's reach Benril finally noticed something was amiss but it was too late, Sloth grabbed the back of Benril's collar and picked him up out of his chair slamming him face down on the table he was sitting at, exposing his legs and a piece of paper mashed into his back pocket, a bit of blood pooling from his mouth. Pulling out his knife he pressed the cold blade against the jugular of Benril, his right on the blade caressing his throat and the other gripping his collar from behind. He leaned his covered face in next to his right ear and spoke coldly. "I should slit your throat right here but I'd hate to mess up Ma's place, how about we take a walk out back, introduce you to some of my friends?" "Y-y-y-yy-yo yo, b-b-b-b-be-cool man" Mangus stuttered best he could, feeling the metal draw blood from his neck. He was taken by surprise and today was already hard enough, there were rumors going around his name was on the board and this guy wasn't even a killer, but .. friends sent chills down his spine. Sloth was about to march Benril outside when he caught a look from Mabel, only she could have prevented what was about to happen. "And what the fuck do we have here?" Sloth exclaimed, keeping his left hand on the man's collar while returning his knife to it's sheath, first cleaning it on Benril's cheek. He reached down and took the crumpled paper from his back pocket, opened it, read it, and stashed it in his own jacket. He left the lucky man bent over the table with a streak of blood across his face and took a seat at the end of the bar, opposite where the commotion took place. "Yo Andria, could I get a water?" ( he can drink through his mask) talking as if the incident never occurred, the menace leaving his voice.
