More precisely he can mold and shape naturally occurring materials such as soil, stone, sand and some ores. He has some control over refined materials of the same type, however, the more refined or altered the material the less control he has over it. For example, concrete or brick is still fairly easy to control, however, things like glass or iron take a great deal more concentration. Items made of steel or special metal alloys are incredibly difficult if not impossible for him to control, as the amount of energy and concentration required becomes to great.[/indent]

[indent][color=DarkCyan][i]Energy and Concentration:[/i][/color] Manipulating earth is a very difficult process and depending on what Jake is attempting can be incredibly draining. Using his powers always taxes Jake's body in some way, just like going for a jog or weight lifting requires others to expend their energy. It also takes a fair amount of concentration, the larger the earth the more concentration it requires. He does regain energy with sleep and eating, but if he isn't careful with how he uses his powers it is possible for him to seriously injure or even kill himself. It does seem he is able to increase the base amount of energy he has, but this takes a great deal of practice, which is difficult when you cant expose your powers. [/indent]

After about 100ft it takes twice as much energy and concentration as it normally would, and anything over about 350 feet away is almost impossible for him to control due to the amount of energy required. His hair is a deep brown with some lighter brown highlights and his eyes are a striking light blue. He generally keeps his hair a little longer, just past his shoulders, and prefers to let it fly in the wind except when he's cooking. His body is well toned, a fact that most find surprising considering the amount of food he eats. 

[color=DarkCyan][b]Day-to-day Wardrobe:[/b][/color] Jake generally wears a dark t-shirt or a hoodie with jeans and hiking boots. 

[color=DarkCyan][b]Typical equipment:[/b][/color] Jake always has a knife hidden somewhere on his person and usually a pair brass knuckles. He also likes to keep simple survival equipment like a compass and a hook and some string for

[color=DarkCyan][b]Personality/Attitude:[/b][/color] Jake comes off as a happy-go-lucky person. He almost always is smiling and has a quick, easy laugh that a lot of others find intoxicating. A lot of people think of him as an extrovert and just an all around good guy. However, this is nothing but a facade. In reality, Jake is quiet and distrustful. He cant help but see others as threats and never lets anyone get to know the real him. He prefers to be alone with just him and his husky Bork, who he keeps by his side as much as he can. He has a searing hatred of the government, and thus anyone who works for them. He feels resentment towards non-supers, even though he knows it an irrational feeling. He does have a compassionate side, but this mostly only extends to children and animals. He is very intelligent but keeps it hidden out of fear that someone will use it against him. If he was ever truly honest with himself, he doesn't want to see the government changed as much as he wants to see it burnt down and rebuilt.

[indent][color=DarkCyan][i]Mechanically inclined:[/i][/color] Jake seems to have an almost natural understanding of mechanical items and tear apart and put back together just about anything with running parts. This does not, however, extend to computers which he finds to be exceedingly irritating and never do what he wants. 

[color=DarkCyan][i]Cooking:[/i][/color] Due to the sheer amount of food that Jake has to consume, he has become an excellent cook, and can turn even the smallest amount of food into something special.

[color=DarkCyan][i]Tactical Mind:[/i][/color] Jake has a naturally tactical mind. He has an innate understanding of combat situations and is good at finding the flaws in a plan. 

[color=DarkCyan][i]Charismatic:[/i][/color] Even if it is all a sham, Jake is rather charismatic. He has an easy time getting others to like him, and isn't beyond using this to his advantage.
