I actually had a really odd experience once a few years back with a roleplaying partner of mine...where I would try to write flaws and faults into a character as you do, to make them more balanced and all.

And my partner would then [i]deliberately try to contradict the flaws of MY character[/i] throughout the roleplay and make them into a perfect Mary/Gary Stu....got so bad at one point I didn't know what to do with them as a roleplay partner

Like "dude, I'm flattered you like my chars so much but you know, its ok for them not to be perfect"? O__O 
We haven't talked in a long time, I actually lost contact with them. But yeah, that was weird as hell. Just got reminded of it reading over those couple posts above xD
